Well, I went through Easy first, to get the hang of the game. I'm still figuring out new mechanics now, in my fourth playthrough(Nightmare). You can follow the tutorials they have, and get through the game with that knowledge, I suppose. If JP YU without knowing Japanese is about a 7 or 8, this is a 5 or so. Maybe a bit higher on Normal.

Save yourself the trouble of floundering around confused and do the First Step tutorials under How To Play before actually starting a game. It demonstrates the core mechanics and gives you an opportunity to try them, too. WALRUS WAS DUMB AND DIDN'T DO IT, SO HE HAD TO ASK US A BUNCH OF QUESTIONS.
You could also ask us questions if there's something you don't understand. The Kitten Game Help section could probably use a REAL help topic one of these days... ~~~ |

Hopefully there isn't going to be too many sections where I need to do like some specific action to move on... Since I wouldn't be able to read most of it. Unless it's katakana/hiragana. But even then I wouldn't understand it.
