A lot of the stuff that Nessiah says in that scene is really ambiguous and open to interpretation. (Heck, even the Japanese banner and characters' dialogue disagree--it implies that Nessiah is actually dying in the scene, even though the characters talk as though he's going to revive again. It's weird!) For a mage of Nessiah's skill, I would guess that physical blindness wouldn't really be an issue (he'd be able to use some spell or something to simulate sight... you know the number of blind sorcerors/prophets/psychics there are throughout gaming, literature, anime, and what all...).

Just the way he says it and the connotation of the scene leads me to believe he meant it literally.

But again, this is one of those things that we can't know unless we hogtie the planners from Sting and add this to the interrogation list... (which is already very long...)

In "these blind eyes" he meant his own, maybe because the blindfold sealed away his sight (death rays from the eyes? just kidding...).

And he probably was rivived, it is his punishment after all, to live and die over and over again...But now that the Gran Centurio was sealed away in Asgard, what is he going to do?

Hmm, I wonder if he can make another Gran Centurio? And do the "plan" all over again.

If you mean after the events of BF47:

Otherwise I just misinterpretted that sentence.

It's easy, if we simply check other BFs where somone is killed and see if that message appears...

Thanks for ruining my ability to take the scene where Joachim kicks the bucket seriously you guys. |D

He expires like old milk... baaaad... *shot*

But Nessiah being permanently dead after BF47 is a huge plot hole. It would literally be impossible unless Yggdra accidentally (?) broke the Chains of Conviction during their fight, which she doesn't seem to--and if she had, you'd think that maybe someone would mention it--and the characters STILL all talk like he's going to come back to life.

(Durant: ...Is it... over?

Yggdra: I can't say for sure.) et cetera. I have that scene's script, and it says nothing about the chains being broken.

Does his phrasing differ significantly in the Japanese? I still can't read all the kanji, so... maybe there's a connotation that got lost in translation?

It is not a plot hole, and it's not a connotation lost in translation, it's entire fucking story events.

That makes sense since well, he DID make the Gran Centurio for the purpose of breaking those Chains.

But it's never mentioned that he'd die without those chains you know. Maybe he just lost his body and he'll be a bodiless soul forever. Since then he's not really 'living' anymore.

But this is so not anything to do with pairings. D:

Not like he'd die without them as in they're keeping him alive, but that he'd die without them because they're what brings him back to life every time he dies.

BUT YOU'RE RIGHT AND WE SHOULD STOP DEBATING WHETHER NESSIAH'S ACTUALLY DEAD OR NOT BECAUSE THIS IS THE PAIRINGS THREAD.

Mmm, pairings.

Gulcasa/Yggdra ftw.
