Pretty good port. I'm playing from an ISO so I'm unsure how the load times are, Sturm'll have to fill those holes in. The sprites are a bit sloppy (forgivable), the artwork is detailed high resolution stuff (I love it), the special effects are spiffy but nothing to write home about, the game is FULLY voice acted (every little thing from normal event dialogue to mundane tasks), and they directly used the Arrange Soundtrack for the game. Though, the PSP wasn't designed to be as rapid-fire friendly as the GBA, so the stuff like "Press O repeatedly" tasks become more difficult because of this.

All in all, I'm quite satisfied with it.

Did they do the voice for all of the item names?

If you mean if they did all the first- and second- level overdrives, no. It's still the same. They don't say the names.

The traps are MUCH harder this time around because of the PSP's button layout (and the fact that the directional pads look like they point in the opposite direction if you don't look carefully). They apparently added some minor events and a lot of the new CGs are kind of pointless. Also, the training mode now lets you choose what enemies you want to fight, so no more of the fucking acid enemies blowing up your items in training.

I hated those acid enemies so much. Can you select battles from previous chapters as well? e.g. You're on chapter 5, can you select battles that occurred in chapter 2?

It was. I only wish the best for those people who can only play for a few minutes at a time, as without temporary saves, it'll be kind of frusterating to get from chapter to chapter for them. I think, anyways...

Is the Temp save you guys are talking about the saving in between each screen (don't know any other way to word it) or is it the Suspended game option?

Suspended game option. The saving between each major screen ( i.e. the screen between 5-2 and 5-3 would be the screen where you save at.) is not a suspended game, but actual recording of your file.

He's not allowed to say where he got the ISO here...

Anyway, that's horrible that Suspend is gone. Well, not SO horrible. I have no issues with playing through Riviera five billion times to get all of the items, but that made progress take less time. And it's going to annoy me that I can't just quit wherever I want to.

Then find another way to not tell me here!

Anyway, the PSP does have a small Sleep-like feature built in to it. You just flick the power switch and it goes into the mode...

But that only kind of works if Riviera is the only game you're playing on your PSP. And even then, it definitely wouldn't be the same :(
