I always assumed male, but now I'm not so sure... I also thought that Musya was male until I saw the first bath scene (I didn't get the bath scene on my first playthrough).

i thought it was a girl...just looked that way to me. and the odd "lock away" comment. japanese tend to put more female characters than male in many animes and games from my experience. look at the main line up in this game for gods sakes! its a 5 to 1 female male ratio here!
