This will hopefully reduce the amount of questions about the site and forum by answering the most frequently asked ones.

1. Where can I find out the rules? What can I get in trouble for?
The "Forum Rules and Information" section of the forum contains topics that should answer most questions pertaining to the rules. Mostly, though, you'll want to look at this topic.

2. Who are the admins/mods?
You can find a nice, always up-to-date list here, but if you don't feel like going to a new page, here's a list. Do keep in mind that this list does not update instantly like the other one, so it may be out of date.

Admins: Leyviur (A.K.A. Ash), Rhiannon, and blues.
Global Mods: Marionette.
Forum Mods: valkan (Fiction).

3. Why was my account deleted? I'm certain that I registered a few months ago...
Did you post at all? Accounts that have zero posts for 60 days after registering will be deleted, as all they do is clog up the member list. We do apologize if your account was deleted and you suddenly decided to use it again, but there's no way for us to predict such a thing and we'd rather have a manageable member list. Feel free to reregister your account if you come back one day and find that yours was deleted because of this.

4. The stylesheet is too dark/the text is too small/whine whine whine. Fix it.
You do it. We don't have the amount of time to make a stylesheet for every person, but you can make one and send it in. We'll most likely put it up.

5. I don't like this admin/mod.
Deal with it. All of the admins and mods were chosen for one reason or another, they're not going to be removed because you don't see eye-to-eye with them.

6. I'm looking for this/that Riviera/Yggdra Union file...
Check the site. If it's not there, it's unlikely any of the members here know where on the internet it would be. However, if you do come across a file that's not on the site, point us in its direction so we can get it put up on the site.

7. When did this get added? Why wasn't I told?
You were told. You just didn't care to listen. On the front page of the site (www.lacrimacastle.net) is all the news posted in the News and Updates thread. Every change to the site is mentioned in a news thread at sometime, so pay attention to it.

8. Why was I banned?
If you can still use the PM system, it is unlikely that you were banned. You were most likely suspended, meaning you can't post for a set amount of time. If you were suspended, you should have been contacted by the admin/mod that did it. Argue it out with them.

9. What is the Hell forum for?
The Hell forum is for posts that will not be added to your total. For posts that more or less do not contribute anything. This does not mean serious discussion is not allowed in the Hell forum, but if you want to have a serious discussion, it should be taken to a more suited board (such as Miscellaneous) where it cannot be highjacked and people cannot come in and suddenly post about pie.

10. Do I have to introduce myself or tell people I'm leaving?
You do not have to introduce yourself. The intros/departures forum is just so that people know where they SHOULD post such a thread if they want to. You also do not have to post to tell that you're leaving, but it is nice to notify people that might care that you won't be around (whether it be forever or for vacation).

11. Why isn't my post count rising? I've posted a lot!
There are some forums that do not raise your post count when you post in them. Chances are, you've been posting in those forums. The forums are Introductions and Departures, and all of the Hell subforums (Internet/Fads, Self-Perpetuating, and Others). We generally call this group of forums "Spam forums."

12. What are the user titles, and when do I get a custom one?
Posts,PIPs: Title
0,0: Lazy
25,1: Shy
50,2: Casual Chatter
100,3: Talkative
150,4: Talkative <- Custom Title Get
200,5: Time Waster
300,6: Time Waster
400,7: Life Waster
600,8: Life Waster
800,9: Spammer
1000,10: Keeping the forum afloat
1500,11: Keeping the forum afloat
2000,12: Post Master
2500,13: Post Master
3500,14: Secret Spammer
5000,15: Secret Spammer
10000,16: Message Magistrate

There may eventually be more, if for some reason someone surpasses 10000, just like we did after the first person passed 1000. Hopefully that won't happen, but everything's eventual.

13. How can I become a mod?
It's unlikely that you will ever become a mod. The admins and mods we have currently are all people from the days of RHQ and the early days of LCN that we know and trust the judgement of. If you were able to attain that sort of trust, then you might have a chance...

14. I have stuff that should be on the site.
Fantastic. Post it in the submissions forum. Unless it's fanfiction. If it's fanfiction, take it to the fanfiction forum, and/or contact valkan.

15. My avatar is all stretched out, what happened?
Do not link to your avatar, unless it is exactly 150x150 (the forum limit). There seems to be a bug in the forum code that stretches all linked images to the max size, but not to scale. If you do not want this to happen, just upload your avatar.

16. Didn't this site used to have the games' soundtracks available for download?
Yes. They were taken down.

17. ... ... ... Why?
Because it is the opinion of this site's administrators that piracy is wrong, and that this site will not be a part of it.

18. Why is Japanese censored?
The only Japanese that is censored is romanized Japanese, and this is mainly because it has been a problem and we think it looks silly. If you want to post messages in Japanese here, you'll have to actually write it in Japanese. Furthermore, we look down upon the use of any language other than English unless it is used for a reason that we deem meaningful. Those reasons are:
  • To discuss the language itself
  • To express an idea that does not exist in English, or one that you do not know how to express in English
  • Using it in a quote or title or just as some text in your title/signature/whatever
If you post a message in a different language beyond those reasons, your post may be edited in a way that makes you look silly. This is an English fansite, I do not believe it's unreasonable to want our members to speak English.

19. What is the channel?
The IRC channel. Basically a chat room. If you want to learn about it, read this topic.

20. What's this "Magi" usergroup?
The Magi usergroup is for users who contribute significantly to the site in some way. They have access to a hidden forum where we talk about how we hate all of you. No, I'm joking, we just talk about things that other users wouldn't care about.

The current Magi are: Sauce XIV and Raijinili.

21. This person keeps calling me a jerk! Why won't you punish him?
Here, "jerk" is generally not a serious insult at all. In fact, it usually implies a lack of seriousness. Please don't take it personally if someone calls you a jerk. However, if you're being insulted in some other way and it doesn't appear that anyone in power is taking action, feel free to contact an admin/mod or report the post.

That's all for now, but if other questions become frequently asked, they will be added to this topic.
