So I just now wondered if there is a connection between Melad Margus and Seth.

Melad Margus was the result of Melissa merging with Zolgonark's soul/lingering power blob that as left of him after his defeat. Her senseless, insane desire then became to unite all the worlds, from Asgard over the various parallel worlds to the Underworld, in chaos.
Seth—aka the personification of “The Retribution”—was not dissimilar. She did not have any particular will of his own beyond cRaViNg PoWer, and after Hector merged with her, Seth-Rah's desire was to submerge all of creation in chaos to then be able to create it anew. The who shared the same power, and the same desire.

But they also look similar, in that they both have the body of a naked red girl with a variety of wings and a few bones stripped of flesh attached to them! A comparison:

However, Seth cannot be fully identical with Melad Margus, since the latter was a fusion of Marietta's dark side with what was left of Zolgonark. However, said demon god survived (more or less) as Hades, and thus must have been separated from Melissa again at some point.

Now here's my theory: While I don't expect any great variety in the design of dragon skeleton, there exists some similarity between the skeleton Melad Margus wears on her shoulders (which is presumably Zolgonark's leftovers) and Hades' appearance in Riviera.

Could it be that after the defeat of Melad Margus, she was split into two, with Zolgonark's remains and a fraction of his powers being throw back into the underworld, and the senseless part of her into which Melissa had dissolved, and which was charged with her ultimate power of destruction, was sealed away in Riviera?
Although I recall the game saying that the power of the Retribution has been resting there since circa Ragnarok, and is of divine origin…
