What is your favorite (main) Final Fantasy and why?
I have to go with FF9. I just loved the characters and environments and the story was fairly interesting the entire way through (although the ending was pretty anti-climatic). It's probably the only Final Fantasy I've contemplated playing through again (not to mention the only one I've been interested in enough to finish). Quina pwnz j00. Might as well do an inequality chain using main series FFs. Because I'm bored.
X-2 (not a typo) > 7 > 5 = X > 8 > 2 = 9 > 6 > 4 > 1 ...yes. X-2 is indeed my favorite FF game, the battle system just wins that much. It could have been somewhat more challenging though. I also really liked the aspect of actually seeing what happens to the world after you save it in X. The mostly free choice of what order to do things in and what sidequests to do was awesome, too. Overall, the game was simply really, really fun to play, and that's what counts.
