LacrimaCastle.Net (LCN) both regrets and is overjoyed to inform you that there has been a translation error by members of our staff, and members of our members, in the nomenclature of certain persons and items in the multi-platform Japanese role-playing game "Riviera: Yakusoku no Chi".
Recently (a few minutes ago) has there come to light that the main character, Ecthel, is in fact not supposed to have been named "Excel", but rather the name given by the Japanese game company who chose the transliteration. This comes on the heels of a similar, even greater discovery: Ecthel's sword is intended to be named Ecthelion. The name comes from a fixture of fantasy literature: J.R.R. Tolkien, early in his career, wrote of a character, an elf by race, named
Ecthelion. This is undoubtedly what should have been the translation of the name of the sword.
LCN apologizes profusely for this lapse in attention to detail.
