I have to say while that render does look badass, giving Sonic a weapon of whatever kind is so damn out of character it's not even funny anymore. HE'S NATURE. HE FIGHTS WITH ONLY HIS BODY. DAMMIT.

EDIT: Fuck, I typo'd "Knight". Could someone with topic title editing powers fix that for me please?

Sonic started going down in the 5th generation, but Adventure 1 was still fun. 2's first 3 levels or so for Sonic are fucking awesome, and then the rest of the game blows.

Yeah. The other ones did suck, especially the last levels, like Final Rush and Meteor Herd. WTF? Talk about way too complicated. The only stages I really liked were City Escape, Metal Harbor, Green Hill Zone, and Dry Lagoon.

Agreed. Green Hill Zone was AWESOME (they thought of everything!), but that's about all. Even though the stages I just mentioned were cool, I would have much preferred the older style of Sonic's zones. The Marble Garden, Green Hill, Angel Island, HydroCity, and Hilltop zones were all amazing. I would have loved seeing them in a 3-D Sonic game.

What would make you people happy, then? A game where Sonic runs past some hills, industrial sites, ancient ruins, casinos, and mountains, while attacking a large mustachioed man for no apparent reason?

A game where Sonic runs through stages progressively more influenced by human presence to fight a large moustachioed man because of his goal to eradicate life and replace all sentient beings with robots while covering the world in metal.

Aside from GHZ those are all still pretty tame heh. I was rather thinking Sonic CD's and Knuckles Chaotix stages with their unrivalled surreality and unique style. But still, yeah.
