Okay folks, this thread is dedicated to the use of Engrish in Knights in the Nightmare.

Let's start with the promo video, found on the KitN website:

"One night, the denizens of the abyss, led by Zovornak, emerged out of nowhere and slayed all the kings men..."

Pretty much the only thing I found in the whole thing is "slayed all the kings men" which sounds like engrish to me. Killed all the king's men? Massacred the king's men?

Certain dialog boxes: Touch the box. (Groan) Sometimes: Touch either box.
Other dialog box: Go Next. (argh)

One word: KILL

[A knight joins you]: Join In! (?)

[Before battle]Get ready! Engage!

[Get an item in battle]Item gotten!

Warrior:
[Activate]The warrior: Activated!

On turn result screen:
KILL OUT!

On scene result screen:
Drive Tech (?)

One enemy slots screen:
Touch the box to be defeated enemy

What is Unlimited Blade Works?

Rai, your arguments 2 and 3:
"2) Note how it doesn't say "all non-standard variations of English". Not all "non-standard variations" count as Engrish.
3) The definition of "Standard English" varies widely. Ye Olde English, the kind of English that was used in FFTPSP, is not "standard", and it's in a Japanese game. Does that make it Engrish?"
are not relevant to the discussion. Maybe it's not the most perfect definition ever, but it is at least good. Post your definition if you want to argue further. #3 has nothing to do with text in KitN.

No. They are statements about how the ones you prefer are ridiculously overused as to be trite.
Please excuse my lack of higher level thinking about your comments. I still like my suggestions. That's just my opinion. If you think what Sting came up with is better, more power to you.

It will be interesting to see what Atlus USA comes up with in the translated version.

"The definition you quote doesn't mean what you say it means" is perfectly relevant to this discussion where you quote a definition as your evidence that you're right.

The fact that you're still defending the definition itself shows that you have to Pay Attention.
