Fantastic series of Space age RTS games. Cataclysm ranks among one of my favourite games of all time.

I know I've intrigued Sauce with the series, but has anyone else ever played any of the games?

I had fun with the orginal HW for awhile. I got stuck on a mission:

There was some space station with radioactive stuff or something. If your ships got near it, they were damaged and eventually destroyed. Also, it was heavily guarded. I never did actually beat that mission.

Also, the game (At least the original Homeworld) had a multiplayer feature. I was wondering if anyone ever actually played multiplayer? Is it any fun? I think in space, where there are no obstacles, RTS play versus a human would be pretty uninteresting.
