Yes, I used a brush, and the brushmaker has a general understanding of Japanese, but to my knowledge she tries to use aesthetic translations rather than literal ones. So her mistake was pretty simple. "Ano hito no omoida" would usually be translated as "That person's memories" or "His memories", though I've seen "ano hito" translated as "you" in a few songs and anime. The article "no" is a possessive, hence "That person's"; but you can also use the reversal rule to make the translation mean "memories" "of" "that person", or in this brushmaker's case "memories" "of" "you". "These memories of you" was her intended translation, so that's what I usually put out of courtesy.
