Basically, just use this topic to discuss the name origins for anything and everything in Yggdra Union. I HAVE NOTHING TO START THE TOPIC WITH SO I'LL JUST WIAT FOR SOMEONE TO START.

Durant might come from "Durand", a last name derived from the latin word "Durandus" meaning, strong, willful and enduring (wikipedia is always a great stop for these kinds of questions)
