This is your chance to promote any band you like. From Green Day to Cannibal Corpse; their genre, popularity, and status does not matter. A list of all the promoted bands will be compiled and sorted out into genre. This will be a quick and easy way for people to discover new musicians.

A few things to keep in mind:
  • You can promote 3 bands per week.
  • Make your post well thought out, don't just quote wikipedia, VH1 or MTV and call it a day. Nobody wants to read that. Tell us how you feel about the band you chose.
  • If you want your band/artist to go into the list of suggested bands/artists, follow the format provided in the second post.

List of Promoted Bands:

Metal
Death - A pioneering death metal band that employs harsh vocals, heavy and distorted guitars, amplified bass, fast and complex drumming, and lyrics that glorify death or take an objective look at human nature.

Anorexia Nervosa Nihilistic Orchestra - One of the most ingenius bands in the history of music, Anorexia Nervosa Nihilistic Orchestra, or Anorexia Nervosa for short, has created some of the most beautiful music in existence today. They are the kings of symphonic black metal, and will to be hailed as one of the most influencial bands in the genre, once the genre progresses in the near future.

Indie
Sanctus Real - A band that has recently gone through some hard times, they guide listeners toward hope through both soothing melodies and hard-hitting rock. Clean vocals and a mixture of lead and bass guitars are the focus of this band's sound.

Death

  • Official Website
  • Sample Song: Symbolic.
  • Recommended Tracks: Zombie Ritual, Evil Dead, Pull the Plug, Spiritual Healing, Together as One, Overactive Imagination, Trapped in a Corner, The Philosopher, Symbolic, Zero Tolerance, Misanthrope, Bite the Pain, Spirit Crusher, Voice of the Soul [Instrumental], Painkiller
  • Genre: Death Metal
  • In a Nutshell: A pioneering death metal band that employs harsh vocals, heavy and distorted guitars, amplified bass, fast and complex drumming, and lyrics that glorify death or take an objective look at human nature.
  • Formed in 1983 by the genius musician Chuck Schuldiner, Death was the pioneering death metal band. At a time when glam rock, hair metal and thrash dominated the music industry, Death released Scream Bloody Gore in 1987. Its heavy sound and dark themes would set the standard for the death metal explosion in the early 90's and all future death metal. Symbolic and The Sound of Perseverance are their most accomplished albums, showing great musical and lyrical skill and maturity. Unfortunately, Schuldiner passed away in 2002 because of brain stem cancer. Still, he is regarded as the father of death metal and the genius of Death's music reflects that. Anyone interested in the origins of death metal or how death metal sounds when its peak has been achieved needs to waste no time in checking out Death. They are simply amazing.
