1. Yes. Actually. 1 can mean more than 1 thing.
2. Actually, you can't. Its impossible to prove things through simple statements.
3. Um, no? It depends on the type of light, as I said.
4. To you.
5. Industrial Metal started in the late 1980s when early electronic (industrial) bands such as Ministry and KMFDM added guitars and elements of metal to their music when previously they had no guitars. Now there are many industrial metal bands, generally using electric guitars, synthesizers, drum machines or drums, sequencers, keyboards and samplers. Many nu metal bands and other metal bands draw a influences from industrial metal too. A band is often called "industrial metal" if they use a lot of keyboards, synths, samples and electric guitars. Generally the guitar work is fairly basic, very heavy and distorted and not always the main focus of the music (the electronic elements dominate).
Thats my definition of Industrial.
Nu-metal originated in the mid 90s, and it is typically a fusion of grunge/alt metal, electronic music/hip hop and other metal genres, normally thrash metal. Many metal fans don't consider this to be a true metal genre, and the term nu-metal is often used in a negative manner. The actual sound of the genre is quite hard to properly classify, as it can be quite different from band to band. Generally, the guitar work focuses more on mood than complexity, so it's mainly power chords. Sometimes the guitars a de-tuned to give a lower pitch. The drums also normally follow a simple beat. The vocals can vary, with either harsher, more aggressive vocals akin to metalcore, pop like vocals or occasionally rapped vocals.
And thats mine of Nu Metal.
Static fit that quite well if you ask me.
6. So all Thrash Metal is actually Black Metal?
Doom Metal DOES come from Black Sabbath's first three albums: the slow, evil riffs, the heavy groove and the bleak lyrics. But then a lot of metal is derived from Sabbath, so this particular facet of their sound just kind of lay around until St. Vitus and then Candlemass came along and did something with it. Candlemass are really the fathers of Doom Metal, and pretty much every Doom band today has either been inspired by them or compared to them at some point.
7. And Kudos to you. But this is my personal opinion. I love how you all put so much emphasis on "personal preference" and "personal opinion" when someone confronts you but then eat your own words and turn hypocritical when someone happens to disagree with you.
I could care less whether you think LastFM is good or not. No one is forcing me or you to use to anything. But when you've got brainless tools like yourself running around talking shit about things they know nothing about, you can't simply stand by and twidle your thumbs while they ignorantly insult your preference and continue to show devotion to something like lastFM just because its considered "the greatest music finder of all time" by a guy who can't even accept other people's opinions.
I don't use LastFM because I don't like it. I expressed that, if it pissed you off, well then sorry, but its not changing.
I call Static-X Nu/Industrial Metal because thats what I find them to fit well. Don't like it? Live with it.
