You guys are far too melodramatic. Black holes aren't infinitely powerful, you know. Just like with normal objects, their gravitational pull is relative to their size, and when they're going to be the size that this thing will make, they're nothing to worry about.

I heard somewhere (for the life of me, I can not find the link) that it might somehow spawn a strangelet and it will kill the whole universe.
Yeah, that's definitely not true. Just thought I'd put that out there. I don't know why. Anyway. I don't agree with screwing around with potentially deadly particle accelerators. We also don't have infinite knowledge of black holes, or the LHC, for that matter. I'll be damned if I die because of someone else. Oh wait... |
