QUOTE
Should I go back to school before or after I sell millions?
You won't, at the rate you're going.

QUOTE
That's funny, my definition clearly describes what a ribbon is and shares the same description as a bandage.
That is funny, because this is a direct quote from you:
QUOTE
And as I said "a ribbon is a long object resembling a thin line" so regardless of material or color it's a ribbon.

Let's see. A string is an object. Is long just as often as a ribbon is, and resembles a thin line just as often as a ribbon does. However, ribbons are thin, yet wide, sheets. Strings are merely thin lines. Which object does your definition fit more, now?
Also, that in no way fits a bandage because bandages require thickness to slow blood loss for quicker hemorrhaging.

Yawn, Alright, I'll come back here in a year or two rub it in your face...

Immature, but necessary, yes.

A ribbon is a narrow fabric typically of silk or velvet usually used in trimmings. BUT, it can be used for many things, including wrapping around your body and using them for clothes. *If one feels the need to do so… Ursula*

NOW:

And bandage is a strip of material to be used, INCLUDING dressing a wound but not REQUIRED for. In other words a bandages purpose is not limited to only wrapping around a wound and is not necessarily thick, seeing how a bandage, when wrapped around a wound is wrapped repeatedly, even a thin bandage becomes thick when overlapped.

And a string is a line usually composed of twisted threads or a series of things arraigned as if strung on a cord. A string is also a plant vein or as on a musical instrument like a violin. CLEARLY NOT A RIBBON!

Now, you tell me which one most resembles a ribbon. *cough*bandage*cough*

You're not using your own definitions anymore, so you've just conceded the argument. Have a nice day.

Not going to happen. First, you've cursed yourself in your intentions. Second, you make the claim that you'll be selling millions within a year or two. Third, from your Interests, it seems the "books" you intend to sell are manga.

But when did I say I used them? Not everyone owns a dictionary so I was giving options for those who didn’t.

You never said you used them, but I didn't think you would actually recommend something without even knowing of its flaws.

There's no reason for me to say anything about this ribbon issue, because that's already been adressed by someone else before I got here. It'd be pretty pointless, anyways, since you've just shown what massive overconfidence you have.

QUOTE

Good luck with selling millions and good luck doing it in such a short amount of time. You're going to need it.

QUOTE(Ryo)
Oh, and you Rhiannon, lets see, oh yes, you can go and look up the definition for the word string if you want to, it’ll do you good to learn some basic words.
Hey, maybe you can learn the meaning of "play nice or I'll ban you myself".
QUOTE(MKT)
A LIVING CREATURE AND HAVING THE APPEARANCE OF A FEMALE ARE NOT THE SAME THING

See the parts of the quotes I have bolded? They are the key words which contradict what you are saying. By saying that living creatures have genders and that both Seth and Ursula took form of one, that directly implies that you are saying they do have genders.

Just to make sure you understand, something that has a gender has the respective reproductive organs. Do you see how those two quotes above contradict what you said? That was where your misinterpretation was and it was your own fault.
Actually, his first statement said that their forms have genders, not the spirits themselves. It doesn't contradict the second part.
QUOTE(Ryo)
Okay, I know I said I was done on this thread but this is getting out of control, and I guess no one read that part *I’m not surprised* seeing how some people continue to post in response to me, but I won’t waste your efforts, I’m back! ^^
You might think it's funny to irritate your opponents, but it's irritating everyone else as well.
QUOTE(Ryo)
I knew before I joined that Sturm is incapable of saying nice things. But it doesn’t hurt to ask…
It doesn't hurt to ask NICELY. You're not asking NICELY.
QUOTE(Seraph)
Go back when you do. You'll save your teacher a lot of hassle.
If you're just here to fan the flames, you shouldn't be here.

Going to add my own input and quote from a couple of previous pages~

QUOTE
I am a writer

QUOTE
<random counterattack involving a lot of money>

Several points I'd like to make with these two.

1) The chance of an author making millions in the writing business is slim. Very slim.
2) Manga will not net you millions, as only Japanese and Japanophiles buy them.
3) I honestly doubt you're a good writer, given how often you seem to misinterpret things and then say we're all wrong because you don't understand.

QUOTE
I never said they were, you distorted my arguments and created your own, one that yes, contradicts what I was saying, but it was you who contradicted my statement from the start not me.

QUOTE
blahblahblah genderless blahblahblah spirits look like females, must be females but I say they're genderless blahblahblah (taken from previous page, but of course tweaked to get the main points out.)

First off, you're distorting your own arguments by contradicting yourself. What you're saying, although you claim to have admitted to saying that they are indeed genderless, is that they are
QUOTE
"woman-like"

which, unless I'm completely misunderstanding this, is only possible if the object in question is living. To be classified as living is of course detailed by the six requirements of life, of which I can't recall off the top of my head. I mean, we don't associate "drapes" with "woman-like", do we? I realize that probably had nothing to do with it, but it was to prove my point that we don't associate the attribute of "woman-like" or "feministic" with things that arn't living. Appealing to feminality is an entirely different matter; don't bring that up, please.

QUOTE
Sturm says “What, I don’t have a reason to argue with Lord Ryo, impossible! Oh wait, I’m the admin I can do whatever I want. Yeah, that’s it, I’ll shove a couple of misused words in his mouth and make a few worthless points and pretend like I know what I’m talking about, I’ll make myself look like an ass in the process, but hey, at least I get to argue.”

1) Sturm knows what he's talking about. You don't.
2) They were not worthless points. They went to show that you obviously have no clue what you're talking about.
3) Sturm, more often than not, doesn't make himself look like an ass when debating. He backs up his points with facts, quotes, and examples. Making yourself look like an ass in debates is just going "Its wrong because I said so." or any of the other five-thousand variants of it.
4) That's flaming, by the way.

QUOTE
Oh, and you Rhiannon, lets see, oh yes, you can go and look up the definition for the word string if you want to, it’ll do you good to learn some basic words.

I believe Rhia has a greater grasp of the English language than you, since she's a lot less wrong on her word usage than you. And when she is wrong, she's willing to admit she's wrong, unlike you.

Oh, and the way you presented that remark could be classified as rude. I'd watch where you step, given that Rhia is the sister of Sturm, so she can indirectly ban you.

QUOTE
Because true strength lies in the heart *, not the abs or biceps.

This is a horrible example, but PLEASE tell me you at one point or another watched DBZ. That is practically the only fusion example I can come up with, and by damn they did get stronger because they fused physically.

QUOTE
I knew before I joined that Sturm is incapable of saying nice things. But it doesn’t hurt to ask…

Do tell, then, if you knew it wouldn't work, then WHY did you even bother to ask? That's like trying to get your dog to do a barrel roll even though you know its impossible. Do you have any idea how stupid that made you look?

QUOTE
Hey, maybe you can learn the meaning of "play nice or I'll ban you myself".

But you don't have that power, do you, Rai?

Edit: Because my quoting powers are fail, the first seven quotes are Ryo, then the eigth quote is Sturm, then the ninth is Ryo, then the 10th is Rai.

Indirectly? She's a mod, she could do it regardless of maternal relation.

Nor did he claim he did. He was explaining basically the entire moderating team's position.

I asked Rhia because she was the one in question. If she CAN ban, she doesn't know about it.

QUOTE
<Sauce> RHIA STURM SAYS YOU CAN BAN
<OctilleRhia> WELL
<OctilleRhia> I COULD
<OctilleRhia> LIKE
<OctilleRhia> SUSPEND USERS
<OctilleRhia> AND THAT'LL DO A LOT OF STUFF THAT STURM WILL END UP SEEING
<OctilleRhia> AND HE COULD SAY "OKAY BAN"
<Sauce> So you in short mislead me?
<OctilleRhia> No!
<OctilleRhia> I can't actually ban people
<OctilleRhia> So Sturm is being stupid
<OctilleRhia> Tell him he's being stupid
<OctilleRhia> Tell him I said that

Unless suspending users is what you were meaning, Rhia can't ban.

Ok, back on topic! ^^

QUOTE
You're not using your own definitions anymore, so you've just conceded the argument. Have a nice day.
MY definitions? I got those definitions out of The Merriam Webster Dictionary. Your difficulty in the comprehension of basic words isn’t my problem, sorry. Have a nice day.

QUOTE
Hey, maybe you can learn the meaning of "play nice or I'll ban you myself".
What’s not to understand about that? Explaining or defending yourself isn’t considered “not playing nice” You’re just making up stuff as you go along, getting off topic and attempting to create more problems where there are none.

QUOTE
Actually, his first statement said that their forms have genders, not the spirits themselves. It doesn't contradict the second part.
Thank you! Thank you! Finally, someone who knows what they’re saying! Tell me you’re not the only one who sees that? *Maybe they’ll listen to you about it…*

QUOTE
You might think it's funny to irritate your opponents, but it's irritating everyone else as well.
Forgive me, I never intended to irritate or offend anyone. *Everyone here has smart ass remarks, I’m no different* Sturm seems like a pretty level headed guy so I figured I could argue with him without having things get out of hand. *And Sturm was who my original argument was with* But I suppose when you jump in the middle of something with no clue as to what you’re doing things can get a little out of hand. *Not that I’m saying anyone did…*

QUOTE
It doesn't hurt to ask NICELY. You're not asking NICELY.
What’s not nice about it? My original post saying that was relatively nice…

QUOTE
Second, you make the claim that you'll be selling millions within a year or two.
I see you understand that, so why comment on it?

QUOTE
Third, from your Interests, it seems the "books" you intend to sell are manga.
Manga published in the from of graphic novels, regardless that fits the description of a book. And no matter what kind of writing I’m involved in, it’s still considered a writing career.

QUOTE
You never said you used them, but I didn't think you would actually recommend something without even knowing of its flaws.
I said myself online dictionary sites aren’t perfect and are less accurate than an actual dictionary. But I also said they weren’t entirely flawed, less than half of the time they’re actually wrong, so it makes them better than nothing. I was suggesting the best idea for someone who didn’t know what a ribbon was and didn’t own a dictionary. Even the online dictionary sites know what a ribbon is, sad, isn’t it?

QUOTE
Good luck with selling millions and good luck doing it in such a short amount of time. You're going to need it.
Thanks Rhiannon, that’s real sweet of you. I’ll make sure to remember you in the interviews. ^^

QUOTE
1) The chance of an author making millions in the writing business is slim. Very slim.
Then you don’t know very much do you? The writing business is a very lucrative career to pursue, why do you think so many people have done it, to waste time? Millions is only the beginning.

QUOTE
2) Manga will not net you millions, as only Japanese and Japanophiles buy them.
It seems as if you’re unaware of the growing popularity in Japanese products in America. Ranging from anime to video games, and yes, even manga.

QUOTE
3) I honestly doubt you're a good writer, given how often you seem to misinterpret things and then say we're all wrong because you don't understand.
Putting words in my mouth again, it’s beginning to hurt my jaw…

Your lack of intellect or inability to comprehend basic word and sentence structure doesn’t make me a bad writer; it only makes things harder for you. And please define what a “good writer” is, because in my eyes, someone who creates great stories is a good writer. So lets say at the very least I have no more than the basic writing abilities but have a brilliant story with characters that come to life when you pick up my book, I think that qualifies me for being a good writer. It’s all about what you write, not how you write. Unless your writing is sooooooo bad it distracts and pulls you away from the story just so you can attempt to make sense of what you just read, which is not the case with me.

QUOTE
To be classified as living is of course detailed by the six requirements of life, of which I can't recall off the top of my head. I mean, we don't associate "drapes" with "woman-like", do we? I realize that probably had nothing to do with it, but it was to prove my point that we don't associate the attribute of "woman-like" or "feministic" with things that arn't living. Appealing to feminality is an entirely different matter; don't bring that up, please.
*facepalmsigh* You just don’t listen do you? As I said before, it’s safe to say that something that resembles a woman is “woman-like” I wasn’t implying that a soda bottle or drapes resemble a woman. We’re dealing with a spirit that looks from the outside from head-to-toe like a woman. Let’s use the Greek suffix “oid” meaning “like” or “resembling” A “womanoid” in this case is nothing more than something, living or non that “resembles” or is “like” a woman. So by me saying they “resemble women” I am implying that they LOOK like women or females and nothing more. And saying that something that is in fact not an actual woman, but looks like or resembles a woman, is not contradictory.

QUOTE
Do tell, then, if you knew it wouldn't work, then WHY did you even bother to ask? That's like trying to get your dog to do a barrel roll even though you know its impossible. Do you have any idea how stupid that made you look?
This one is just unbelievable…

“IT DOESN’T HURT TO ASK!!!!!!!”
それは頼むために傷つかない!!!!!
Es verletzt nicht, um zu bitten!!!!!
Il ne blesse pas pour demander!!!!!

There, I said it in three different languages since you don’t know English very well.
See how stupid that made you look?

QUOTE
Sturm, more often than not, doesn't make himself look like an ass when debating. He backs up his points with facts, quotes, and examples.
Everyone is entitled to a mistake or two along the way, even the infamous Dr. Sturm, which is exactly what we’re dealing with right now. Think before you speak, or in this instance, read before you post. I make myself very clear, I can’t help those who are unable to think for themselves so you’ll be on your own now.

QUOTE
“Its wrong because I said so.”
I’ve never implied that. Let alone in any, five-thousand variants was it?

QUOTE
I believe Rhia has a greater grasp of the English language than you, since she's a lot less wrong on her word usage than you. And when she is wrong, she's willing to admit she's wrong, unlike you.
You’re right, for all I know Rhiannon could be a very intelligent individual. But maybe one small word slipped past her in grade school, that doesn’t make her stupid, and I never said that. Oh, and she never did admit she was wrong about the definition of string but rather avoided it by saying that “it’s already been adressed *with one d* by someone else before I got here.” Nice one…
