Nothing huge, but she wanted me to take African American Studies and she wanted me to hold off on taking any Math until I know what my major will be. Her reasoning for that is that it's easy to forget math so it's better to take a class each semester, and some majors are going to require random extra math classes. Which makes sense. But I looked at all of the majors/minors I have even the slightest interest in and none of them require any extra math... plus, I already have to take like three different courses to graduate because I'm so far behind in it. And as for African American Studies, I'm just not interested in that and know that there are other classes I AM interested in that would fulfill the same silly general education requirements that it does.

I would have talked with her about it more, but we kind of had to make our meeting quick because of some silly mix up with the front desk thing that ended with me having my appointment when it was someone else's time (she was alright with it, but we still didn't want to make her wait too long).

Jonny Craig.
Fucking Awesome.

My Pseudo-RA from last year bought him drinks and got pictures.
AND HE SOUNDS LIVE JUST LIKE HE DOES RECORDED, GREAT STUFF

Two of the bands on the ticket didn't show (Breathe Electric, The Divine), and two other acts that weren't on the ticket showed up (Kurt Travis, Trees Above Mandalay). The guitarist from TAM is so boss.

Definitely worth the $10.

Take HURL 102 with Thompson. She's awesome, and HURL 102 double counts for a Racial issues and Area C. I wouldn't mind being a Human Relations major...

"I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE SAYING

Are you explaining divisibility to me? I was clarifying that it's not something you have to prove, because it's basically the definition."
Yeah but it doesn't hurt to clarify.

"Uh, Newton's Method is to use the derivative to approximate the zeroes of a function. It applies to only functions satisfying certain properties on an open interval of values (i.e. every open interval for which the function has the right properties lets you use Newton's method on it). Off the top of my head: x_{i+1} = x_i - f(x_i)/f'(x_i). In other words, there's a sequence x_0, x_1, x_2, ... that converges to x where f(x) = 0. I still have no idea what you're talking about. Yes, when you divide a real number by a smaller integer, you get closer to 1. What?

If you want to solve 5*sqrt(x) = sqrt(33), then x = 33/25. I... don't think that's what you're saying..."
I'll look it over again when I have the time.

"Uh... Define [x] as the greatest integer less than or equal to x (floor function). In other words, [x] is an integer such that [x]<= x < [x]+1. Then are you saying that 1 <= x / [x] < 2? Yes, that's true, for x >= 1. The first inequality is true by virtue of x >= [x] by definition, therefore x/[x] >= [x]/[x] = 1. Assume the second is false. Then x/[x] >=2. Then x >= 2*[x] = [x] + [x]. But since x >= 1, [x] >= 1. So x >= [x] + [x] >= [x] + 1, which contradicts the definition of [x]. Is that what you want?"
We just hit this concept, so I sort of understand what you're saying, but i'll look it over some more after I get more studying and textbook examples down.

Also did the quote system break or something?

Thats because I've gotten my head out of my ass. I'm starting to do stuff that doesn't include me drinking until I black out.

ACT registering and Upward Bound college stuff.

Feeling kind of sleepy. Borrowed first three volumes of Ruroni Kenshin.

RHIIIAAA I CAUGHT LUGIA. SPARK SPAM AND GUITAR HERO HELPED A LOT.

EDIT: THAT WAS AFTER ABOUT THREE-FIVE RESTARTS BECAUSE RAIKOU'S PRESSURE ENDED UP MAKING IT USE STRUGGLE. AND THAT WAS JUST LAST NIGHT :(

EDITEDIT: AND MY HAUNTER HAS HYPNOSIS, BUT HE DIES QUICLY. OTHER THAN RAIKOU, ALL MY POKEMON WERE AT LEAST NINE LEVELS BELOW THE STUPID BIRD.

THAT KEPT HAPPENING TO ME, EXCEPT NONE OF MY POKEMON EVEN HAD PRESSURE. BUT PARALYSIS ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH, AND MY NOCTOWL (WHO HAD HYPNOSIS) WASN'T SURVIVING LONG ENOUGH TO KEEP PUTTING HO-OH BACK TO SLEEP.

SO YAWN WON.

I WENT WITH PARALYSIS BECAUSE THEN I DIDN'T HAVE TO KEEP USING AN ATTACK TO CAUSE THE STATUS EFFECT.
