If you buy a console, you should stick with it until it contracts a horrible uncurable cancer, like the Dreamcast. Great games worth owning will always be released for it eventually. |

Is it actually that creepy? It always seemed to have more of a quiet, lonely atmosphere than a dark and spooky one from the previews I've seen.

It's pretty fucking creepy, yeah. Fatal Frame 4 is worse, though.

It's not horrible, though it definitely leaves some to be desired. At least what I've played thus far, the combat's quite similar to Silent Hill 2. I haven't played it since I walked into the women's bathroom in one area and was mauled viciously by... Well, I won't say, partially because I'm not totally sure what they were, also don't want to spoil anything. But it was horrifying.

Combat's usually not supposed to be the focus of games like these as it is, so it's understandable if the combat system isn't very good, per se.

I still say its totally your fault for going into the women's restroom. I agree with you Sauce, but the game should still have decent combat. There's not really a point in even including it in the game if there's not going to be any effort on it at all. It's not actually a plot point or anything, I don't see why it'd be a spoiler to talk about it. They can be killed, it's just a matter of luring them out. Also this is pretty early into the game, so. The game does kind of warn you whenever there's something nearby with creepy music--I would almost think it to not be that bad except it's silent before that and mixed with the darkness present in a lot of the game... I'm just glad my fear of the dark isn't really any worse than it was before I played it. If Fatal Frame 4 is worse I am never playing that. |
