Learning the trumpet is fun stuff!

Feel like i've been losing my mind these past few days, not sure what to do.

One of these days I'm going to be in some class and just start screaming at the teacher for being a) inconsistent, b) unreasonable, or c) nit-picky. I swear to God.

My programming lab and writing lecture today just really pissed me off. First of all, I keep losing two points on my C++ assignments and I have no idea why, then today during the lab one of the graders told me to do something for the assignment that turned out to be WRONG and wouldn't believe me until the TA told her that yes, it was wrong. Whoever decided that that class should be supervised by three people should be shot.

--And so should the person who came up with logical fallacies. They pretty much go through every possible technique of writing and make it sound like a deadly sin (and believe me, there're way more than seven of them). More than once I had to kick myself to stop the "Okay, so what the fuck do you actually want us to write" from spilling out of my mouth.

Talk to people and figure out which professors, TAs, and classes you should avoid ahead of time.

My writing professor is fine, it's just the supervisors for my C++ lab. It really depends on which lab section you're in, and the one I'm taking was the only one that fit into my schedule... oh well. At least I have a lot of smart friends in that class. XD

It's hard to say. I'm unsure if it's seasonal or what, but regardless, i'll just have to think things over until I get things worked out in my head.

I know what it feels like to be a freshmen and not know what the hell you're doing.

Oh, that happens to me every few weeks. Followed by a period of inner balance and harmony, then something (or nothing) throws me off causing me to go through and reconsider the entity of my ways of acting and thinking and I turn my mentality upside-down again for the next ~15 days. Rinse and repeat.

Man came up with logical fallacies. Unless you mean whomever labeled them as don'ts. In which case you'd be wrong. Unless you want people using retarded arguments such as "all these people are with me so obviously I'm right" and getting away with it.

Awful website. My Linguistics teacher this semester has a bad rating and is described by numerous people as a "bitch" on that site. She's a fucking hippy grandma, not even remotely bitchy. Then my favourite teacher from the music department has a lousy rating on that site because he's a hard grader - nobody cares that he's an amazing teacher.

I usually put priority on the easiness of a prof when selecting classes, if he/she's an amazing prof that's just a bonus.


The site isn't 100% accurate, because actual students do the reviews, but it does a good job of giving you a lot of different views on a prof in most cases.

You don't get smarter without challenging yourself.

On the subject of collage professors, I had a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air moment.

He seemed like such an ass wizard. He turned out to be the coolest fucking dude ever. He let everyone listen to iPods during tests for fucks sake :/

I get that they call out the stupid arguments, and that's helpful, yes, but they just make it sound like every method you can possibly use to argue is a bad thing. And they don't bother to give you examples of good writing, so that's almost like setting people up to fail. Also I was in a bad mood yesterday and I hadn't eaten anything for about nine hours so that could've had something to do with my complaining.
