Water Polo...?

I played chess after school when I was in highschool.

I was rather good.

Water Polo...?

Interestingly enough, some of the same tactics used to put up a stronger defensive front in soccer also apply to water polo. It's just that getting there is a little different, and if you kick the person they'll kick you back because the ref isn't going to see unless there's some kind of mad synchronized-swimming-esque action. :/ That's what I meant. Otherwise, for tactics in terms of anything, I'm pretty terrible.

They don't call me tactless for nothing. :/

Is there an online chess server somewhere we can use so some of you guys can kick my ass and I get some practice in? D:

Oh, so you're saying that not knowing how to play a game is an excuse not to play said game?

There are three special moves in chess.
1) Castle - If the there are no pieces between a king and either rook, and both have not moved yet, the king moves two spaces towards the rook and the rook moves to the space opposite the king.
2) En Passat - If a pawn is on rank 5 (four ranks ahead of the king) a pawn moving two spaces forward (i.e. E2-E4) on the left or right can be captured by the regular diagonal capture move.
3) Promotion - If you move a pawn onto rank 8, you can trade the pawn for a different piece (except king), placed on the same square the pawn was.
----------------
If ever you're winning in online chess, people disconnect on you. This is problem with any online game, really.

What's not to understand?

It's like overtaking someone on the highway.
Then turning around and shooting them in the face.

None of those are completely correct.

Castle - Given the following conditions:
- Rook X and the king have not moved this game
- There are no pieces between Rook X and the king
- The king has not been placed in check this game
- None of the squares between Rook X and the king are currently in check
you can move the king two spaces towards Rook X, and Rook X will move to the square the king skipped.

Pawn - A which has not moved may choose to move two steps forward when it first moves, provided that the way is not blocked. En passant simply allows an enemy pawn to capture on the turn right after as if that pawn only moved one step that turn.

Promotion - When a pawn reaches the back row, it must be exchanged for a Knight, Rook, Bishop, or Queen of the same color.
