I just finished "Only Revolutions" and "Only Revolutions", both by Mark Z. Danielewski, and started Dave Eggers's "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius". I'm already as in love with AHWOSG as I was with YSKOV! for the first line to appear within the novel: "THIS WAS UNCALLED FOR."
Also for the fact that, in a short prefacing section titled "Rules and Suggestsions for Enjoyment of this Book", he recommends that you skip the preface, the last 200ish pages and the first four or so chapters, leaving you with the manageable, though slightly dull, middle 100 pages.

NOT TO MENTION THE THIRTY-SOMETHING PAGE ACKNOWLEDGMENTS SECTION ENDING WITH THE LINE "And here's a drawing of a stapler: " followed, obviously, by a drawing of a stapler.

Dave Eggers's "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius"

I have that book. I started reading it way back when but I stopped for some reason that I can't remember--I probably lost it. Maybe I should try reading it again.

I re-read Richard Adams' "Watership Down" and its sequel a few months back and I still love them both (the last time I read them was when I was ten or so). I also read "Running with Scissors" by Augusten Burroughs a few years ago and, while it was pretty funny, it scarred me for life.

Leaving Protection by Will Hobbs - I like this book. Only 178 pages, but I'm liking it so far.

Richard Adams' "Watership Down"

I thought Douglas Adams wrote Watership Down.

Also, it had a sequel? Do want. :|

Edit: Nevermind, just got out my copy and looked, and sure enough, it was Richard Adams.

I told you to watch out for the stapler. :/

Good job, Sauce.

Read Across the Wall by Garth Nix.

"Nicholas Sayre and the Creature in the Case" was anti-climactic. D: But I liked "From the Lighthouse." I need to go to the bookstore soon.

Sequel's title is "Tales From Watership Down" (by Richard Adams, obviously). Definitely not as good as Watership Down, but there are some interesting side stories (including some post-Watership Down plot stuff) and more El-ahrairah tales. I think it's worth the read if you enjoyed the first one.

By the way, has anybody ever read "Firegold" or "Number the Stars"? A friend of mine loaned them to me a while back and I'm wondering which one I should read first.

"Number the Stars"

I think I read that in elementary school. If it's the book I'm thinking of, it's a quick read, but it's good. Haven't read it in recent memory though, so maybe you should start with that one because it's a quick read and if you don't like it it'll be over fast.

XD Sounds like a shot. Or something equally unpleasant. Thanks for the info, though.

I just found a bunch of books in my closet: "Artemis Fowl," "House of the Scorpion," and "Labyrinth." Any comments?
