BLASPHEMY! Crush 40 rocks!
Altohugh I do like the old games, I still love the Sonic Adventure series. Sonic Heroes was iffy, but the Genisis, Saturn, and Dreamcast games definitely qualify as classics. This INCLUDES SA2. Sonic's downfall started in Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Rush, and Sonic Riders, as far as I'm concerned. Sure the gameplay for most of Sonic's games are great, but since they're so playable, people think it's okay to forget the STORY AND CHARACTERS.
There are three explanations for this:
1. Yuji Naka stopped producing. 2. Sonic Team has gotten lazy. 3. Both Yuji Naka and Sonic Team have been abducted by space Mexicans and were replaced by evil clones. Their original selves were then destroyed because they knew too much.

QUOTE(Irysa @ Oct 10 2008, 08:56 AM) Sonic started going down in the 5th generation, but Adventure 1 was still fun. 2's first 3 levels or so for Sonic are fucking awesome, and then the rest of the game blows.
Yeah. The other ones did suck, especially the last levels, like Final Rush and Meteor Herd. WTF? Talk about way too complicated. The only stages I really liked were City Escape, Metal Harbor, Green Hill Zone, and Dry Lagoon. QUOTE(P.P.A. @ Oct 10 2008, 09:44 AM) The real world setting was boring,
Agreed. Green Hill Zone was AWESOME (they thought of everything!), but that's about all. Even though the stages I just mentioned were cool, I would have much preferred the older style of Sonic's zones. The Marble Garden, Green Hill, Angel Island, HydroCity, and Hilltop zones were all amazing. I would have loved seeing them in a 3-D Sonic game.

QUOTE(Walrus @ Oct 10 2008, 05:38 PM) What would make you people happy, then? A game where Sonic runs past some hills, industrial sites, ancient ruins, casinos, and mountains, while attacking a large mustachioed man for no apparent reason?
A game where Sonic runs through stages progressively more influenced by human presence to fight a large moustachioed man because of his goal to eradicate life and replace all sentient beings with robots while covering the world in metal. Gameplay specifications left out for now. QUOTE(Neon_the_Chao @ Oct 10 2008, 05:40 PM) Agreed. Green Hill Zone was AWESOME (they thought of everything!), but that's about all. Aside from GHZ those are all still pretty tame heh. I was rather thinking Sonic CD's and Knuckles Chaotix stages with their unrivalled surreality and unique style. But still, yeah.
