Besides, just because Final Fantasy doesn't (spin-offs not included) have related objects that completely assure that any games are in the same universe (which they aren't) doesn't mean Dept. Heaven can't be a real quadrilogy. I'm not saying that YU and Riviera are, I'm just discussing possibilities.

I doubt (Dept. Heaven) will be a quadrilogy (now I can't stop saying that) though. I think it will eventually turn into a long-running series, i.e. Fire Emblem and FF, to name a few.

Well, at this point there's four episodes, so there's my quadriology. I'm not sure why they didn't just make Knights episode three, but who knows how long it'll go on? I've liked all two of the entries so far, so let's hope they keep it up.

My take on this whole Dept of Heaven thing is that the games take place in the same world and share things like terms and races ad whatnot.

I don't believe that Rivi and YU are DIRECTLY connected though. Heck, the two games could be taking place on two different islands/continents. I doubt the world of Dept of Heaven consists of just one island after all.

That's just my opinion though. I could be dreadfully wrong. We won't know until there's some cold, hard evidence. I don't think that characters appearing on turn cards count either.

Pardon? YU and Riviera DO take place on different continents. Riviera is on the island of Riviera, Yggdra Union takes place on...um...a continent. I can't remember it having a name. But it's not Riviera.

By the way, your claims, Irysa, are sort of bad example, in my opinion. You have some points, but c'mon, Scooby Doo? That doesn't seem like a feasible example for showing how Dept. Heaven and Ivalice Alliance have nothing to do with each other in their own universes. Batman and Scooby Doo both take place on Earth, therefore they are connected, you're saying. So that means Elektra, Daredevil, Captain Planet, Topcat, Magilla Gorilla, and the Power Rangers should all be somewhere on Scooby Doo, right? Along with every other fictional game/tv show/book that's on Earth.

Cameos aren't NECESSARILY relations. Most of those have ties which were made up on the spot, and are more akin to guest characters than links. Except Link, of course. Since he's Link.
