QUOTE(Dr Sturm @ Nov 3 2006, 11:58 PM) QUOTE Let me see. Angels and Demons don't exactly get along, now do they? Maybe not now, but what about the past? Oh wait. Archangel. Yeah, Demons and Angels get along just fine. Forgive my saucy ignorance, but I don't exactly see what you're trying to imply there. QUOTE(Dr Sturm @ Nov 3 2006, 11:58 PM) QUOTE And while geographical difference doesn't stop the transgression of language, I'd assume that the hatred and persecution for one another would be great enough to stop the spread of the sacred language anyways. Yeah because it's impossible for neutral parties to exist. Well, let's look at this. You have Angels and Demons. Both strongly hate each other as a race. Now TELL me how you can get neutral parties out of that. And before you mention the sprites, they followed the Demons, according to the game itself. Well once again, if I recall correctly in the Japanese, the Accursed ARE Angels. That's why Ein and friends are specified as "Grim Angels". It's also why Lindwurm is seen as a Holy Wyvern, and Archangel, well, duh. They are divine creatures who the sacred tongue COULD apply too. Plus, this whole arguement is silly for another reason.
Ledah, Ein, Rose, Malice and Hector don't NORMALLY speak the sacred tongue, they all speak the same language the demons, accursed and sprites seem to speak. How did they all learn the same language in the first place anyways, if they're apparently so xenophobic? If the language was an issue, then everytime you were attacked by a Vampire she'd be like "Quam iggu morba morba? *giggle*". But guess what? She speaks in the same language everyone else is speaking in! Language is not an issue in this game. The fact that the Sprites don't know a language which no one around them has ever spoken before (Demons and Asgardians hanging out in Hell and Asgard respectively) doesn't prove anything about the races before them. Plus, when you fight Isher Fia mentions that her grandfather the Elder would like to see sacred text, so he probably has a passing knowledge of how to read it! Which makes sense since Sprites were the slaves of Demons originally! (according to something someone says, Ledah, I think).

And a neutral party is not out of either party; it is one completely separate. Try to remember there are many races in this game; Demons, Angels, Cefiro, Arcs, Sprites, Undines, etc.

Well, I can't be sure about Arcs, but Sprites, Undine and Cefiro are all the same things. We have to look at the name origins here, along with what the game itself says. Now, just within things that are obviously Sprites, we have Fia and Lina (round ears), and the Pixia family (pointy ears) The Pixia residence are obviously supposed to be Pixies, a type of fairy folk. Undine, Sylphs and Gnomes are all types of elemental spirits (Water, Air and Earth respectively) within Alchemy. However if you say they are something seperate from sprites because they don't look exactly alike, then how-the-hell are Gladiators and Slimes both Demons? As for the Cefiro, I'm fairly certain somebody in the script calls them Sprites, but if not it's still a word (Spanish, I think?) describing a fairy king.

QUOTE Who are they?
They couldn't be... The Cefiro?
Cefiro? Whuzzat?
I hear Yggdrasil has its own defense mechanism.. These Sprites, the Cefiro, are part of that system. The defenses must've been activated.
But, we're not the bad guys!
We are still intruding, either way. Trespassers are still trespassers... Wait, whats that Lassie? These SPRITES, the CEFIRO, are part of that system? Dr. Sturm needs to back up his arguements? Timmys trapped in the well?!
