QUOTE (Dr Sturm @ Aug 19 2006, 01:21 AM) | No one said anything about the Gods being good... Where did you get that idea?
And, uh, did you forget that the brats are setting traps for you the entire chapter, too? So they have just as much backstory than the Lindwurm? More so because they can actually talk and express what's going on? |
For some reason I think gods=good since devils=bad but, yes, thats not necessarily true. They are still against the demons obviously, so my point still stands. the gods wouldn't use their language to summon an enemy force.
Talking doesn't mean backstory. Neither does my previous thought. My point is that neither have any real backstory. I suppose that with their ability to talk and express reasons for their actions, that makes it look like they have more to them. But I still think that the Lindwurm has a more palpable idea behind him since you deal with demons throughout the entirety of the game. Besides, where did the brats come from? The Accursed! Like the Lindwurm.

Personally I believe Aghart is a member of the accursed, and I'll try to back this up as well as I can.
The fact Aghart was called the "Holy Beast" doesn't mean much, unless you try to claim the equally sacred Lindwyrm and Archangel were not Accursed. Also if I recall, the japanese refers to the Accursed as "Angels". Throughout mythology, "divine" and "good" are not synonymous. Within Zoroastronism, both the spirit of pure goodness, Ahura Mazdah, and the spirit of pure evil, Angra Mainyu, are equally powerful and divine.
The Accursed were defeated at one time, but will continue to revive because of the existence of their spirits, the "Dark Progenitors". These souls are formed out of the fears of others (The consuming flame of Aghart, the merciless blade of Isher, the destructive hunger of LindWyrm, the pitiless judgement of Archangel, and the inevitable fate of Death). Through this, they give power to demons, the servants of Hades, who is the enemy of the gods. The gods whom people honor in order to protect them from their fears.
Ursula knew that Hector was planning on totally screwing up Riviera and merging with Seth, which obviously is just about the worst possibility for Riviera, the realm she protects. So lets say crazed axe murderers were hacking their way through your establishment, and you had a cage with an equally crazed dog that happened to have a personal vendetta against anyone with an axe. Don't you think that maybe, just MAYBE you'd sic the thing on them? It's a perfectly reasonable response, and sensible for Ursula to have done it.
Aghart is simply a divine monster set in opposition to Asgard. It probably didn't like Ursula in particular, but it DID notice the two Grim Angels, and WOW would it hate them. I mean, 1,000 years ago they killed it. The "backstory" on Aghart is essentially that of Ragnarok itself.

QUOTE(Dr Sturm @ Nov 1 2006, 03:22 PM) Warong. Hector didn't decide to awaken Seth until Ein was taken by Ursula, I believe at the end of Chapter 2 is where the scene shows up.
Well she still knew he was planning on activating the Retribution. And why on Earth would she give Aghart that speech about "My enemy is also yours" unless the two of them weren't normally friends? If I was on, lets say the Sprites team, and the Guardian of the Sprites summoned me, I wouldn't mind helping out. If on the other hand I was one of Hades Generals I'd probably be like "WTF Woman?" but then she'd be like "Look, Grim Angels" and I'd be like "Oh, so there are, well I'll get to killing them right away, FLAME TEMPEST."
