Actually, if you make the blade of the axe closer to the imaginary extension of the pole (making the axe slightly lighter, but centering the balance), you can still use that thing as a weapon.

But make them point the same way. Or else a kick can make you cut yourself.

Wow lots of stuff going on in this ugly picture.

I wanted to try a different style. So I did. Totally ugly. Crappy anatomy. Ohgods that one back leg. Ok, both. Ok the front two suck too.

I decided to be cool-- Or rather, I was really, really bored so I drew this in MSPaint. Paint makes really pretty, pretty lineart. Don't question me. See HERE if you like. Not that the unshaded coloring of the original picture is hard to edit out anyways.

The character? Undesigned. Made up off the top of my head. Probably not keeping him/her/it.

Over-all picture: Fail. But a lot better than some of the other stuff I've been drawing lately D:. My other attempts at drawing lately have been... Ew.

AND IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE FINISHED RESULT OF THE PICTURE OF DEXTRIN.

The coloring is poo. I'm probably going to re-color it some other time.

Well taking Raijinili's advice...I moved the halberd/spear part to where the axe was:



I made it so both blades are on the same side taking note of the disadvantage Raijinili mentioned (Seriously, thanks!)

I even named it! It's name is Wrath. I usually create a history of something I draw(Unless from a video game, tv show, etc.) and wrath is no exception.
But I won't bore you with it so here's take two!!
P.S. I added spikes to the axe end because spikes are cool.It may seem like those spikes would hurt you by fighting with the spear/halberd side but it wouldn't as the are not as sharp as you'd think. mostly dulled and are used for their shock value.

I don't know what the top part and the bottom part are now...

But the top blade is still sticking out too much from the center line. If you're going to make a double-edge pole, you have to make sure that the center of balance is on the center line of the pole, or else you'll have to work to keep the blades pointing up.

hmm i suggest just extending the pole. unless the blades are insanely huge.

i also dont understand why the length of the blade is bigger than the entire pole.....

Simply extending the pole doesn't change the fact that the center of balance is about three inches from the center of the pole. It won't help at all.

Done in Paint because my tablet is having an OMGIHATELIGER moment. It's not done... I still gotta shade it... BUT I AM TOO LAZY TO OMG. Dextrin again. Yeah, his chest is supposedta be green. I forgot. I'll fix it later or something.

I tried a new pose and tried to draw using perspective. Fail aaaaaand fail. Ohwell, first time drawing using... perspective. I'll get better at it. Maybe. ...eventually... hopefully D:
