HEY GUYS THIS IS A TRANSLATION FROM A PERSON NAMED SERENADE BETA. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE From the top then (I'm ignoring what is rather pointless, like comments...)... Also, there is rewording....
-Riviera, Knights in the Nightmare, Yggdra Union all exist in seperate worlds, but all exist in the universe. There are also characters that can travel between them, which is why some characters make multiple appearances. Please note that Heaven's Gate, Hell, Heaven's Gate, and Hades Gate are connected to all three games and not a separate universe.
-Hades/Realm of the Dead/Hell/etc. on the name: Infinitely enlarging chaos The world of chaos where the Gods' power do not reach. To the ones in the Heavens, this place is like an infinitely enlarging space (as in, the one you can go to). There are times where someone might plan to invade Earth or the Heavens, but this does not mean all inhabitants of this realm are enemies. There are many unknown things, but from the resistance and opposition in Hell, it can be seen that not everything is one-sided.
-Realm of the Gods/Heaven/etc., the land where Gods live. Area where the Gods, who created the Earth, live. But the Gods have died due to the Ragnorak (Riviera), so now the ones who lead this realm are the Seven Wise Men of Goth (AKA, Magi). It is made impossible for entry from Earth to the Heavens, but it is possible from the Heavens to the Earth.
-Heavens Gate: Heaven's Last Defense Lines An area created between Earth and Heaven, Heaven's defense line, and the only area that allows movement from Heaven to Earth. This gate is connected to multiple universes, so inhabitants of this realm can go to any world.
-Earth: World Created by the Gods There are many Earth worlds, and they all exist as a "Different Dimension" where they are separated in time and space. However, in he gaps of these worlds exist "Distorted Worlds", which the Gods did not expect. It seems the inhabitants of those worlds can go back and from different dimensions.
-Race: Grim Angels A race of angels specializing in combat, directly created by the gods. During Ragnorak, the Gods gave up their own bodies to create them, because they needed more power. Because the Gods were destroyed afterwards, no more Grim Angels could be created anymore... But there seems to be someone who is artificially creating them in the shadows... As an angel, they are an irregular existence. While they are powerful, they are unstable as an existence, so their operation time is short... Therefore, when it is peaceful, they go into deep sleeps and are awakened when needed... However, there are ones who never waked up after falling asleep.
Vol. 2, Riviera, Gods' Inheritence
The stage for Riviera: The Promised Land is Riviera, which was originally a part of Hell and an important area for demons, but during Ragnorak, the Heavens stole it and changed it into part of Earth. Soon after, the Gods died. So that their incredible power (Divine Judgement/I assume that this is the Retribution in the English version) is not used against them, Riviera was sealed. The land had been recently purified, so there was no one around to use it for evil. Then they placed spirits on the land, and in return for that, they ordered the protection of the land (and the Divine Judgement). After the Gods died, the Magi managed the end the war with a ceasefire, thus further strengthening their power in the realm. After the war, Riviera recovered into a beautiful land (indeed!). But because it was originally ruled by demons, it has an attachment to Hell, especially the deep parts of Milano Underground Graveyard, where there is a crossing domain from Hell left open (you know, that place... below the stone).
We all know about Ein, so I won't bother with his part. Though note that his Diviner has part of his name in it because he had an unusually high synchro rate with it.
There is not much know about "Divine Judgement" except that is has enough power to return everything to nothing.
Infernos/Accursed are high level demons, "Hell's Version of Grim Angels" that were created from the demon gods. "Demons" are the names of the ones that face the Heavens as enemies, and in Hell, they are not called Demons. However, these Infernos are called that by both sides.
Race: Spirits Ahh... Tired... To put it short and simple, spirits are beings that exist in various natural objects. There are also hybrids, and this is treated as the evolution of spirits.
Random note, but if the game sold more, they might have created a sequel using the remaining 8 spirit races...
----
Yggdra Union's world Different fro Riviera's world, this land is mainly populated by humans and a rather normal world. However, an angel who fell because he/she turned his/her back on the Gods during Ragnorak, "Grim Angel Aries", changed his name to Nessiah and brought the world to chaos for his revenge on the Gods.
Note: Not going to bother with some of the info here... Most can be found out in the game, after all. And... too much... irritating kanji... And the info isn't that important anyways.
Fallen Angel Aries=Nessiah's reincarnation and hiding After falling, Aries contracts with one who lived in "Yumira" which was a evil area placed in the gaps of dimensions, where the Gods could not reach. In exchange for his eye, he gained the "power of words". Not only that, with that ability, he gained the power over human reincarnation. Also, using his other eye, he created the tool "Gran Centurio" to cut the chains placed on him by the Gods. "Yumira" is covered in mystery, but the fact that the race of the people who live there are Yumeeru (direct katakana translation) people, and that Pamela came from there is revealed.
Demon Dragon Bronga and Mountain Worshipping The high level demon that appeared on Earth and caused heavy damage, attracted by Nessiah's enormous magic power, is the "Demon Dragon Bronga". Fearing the existence of Bronga on the Gods' land, he granted a young man the power of words "Hero Gil" and suppressed it. On the land where Bronga and Girl fought, the aboriginal mountain worshipping and Bronga's existence intertwined, the worship that saw it as the god which destroyed the demon dragon began. The ancestors of the Bronquia Empire used this to create their great empire.
The true identity of Gran Centurio, the symbol of Fantasinia, is a tool that transforms negative emotions of humans into power. To gain enough power to cut the chains that seal his original body, Nessiah has reincarnated many times and dragged the kingdoms into wars. Also, although the Gran Centurio can unleash godly powers through the hate it absorbs, it is not created by God, so it is not labeled as a diviner.
Race: Guardian Angel
A race of angels blessed by the Gods. Their main objective/mission is to guard the last defense line, Heaven's Gate, with God Realm Soldiers. Not just Guardian Angels, but all angels are an existence only created in the Heavens, and once created, angels can not be destroyed, even by Gods. The only times they "die" are when either the Heavens disappear, or when killed by a Grim Angel or high-level demon. Because of that, the creation of angels are one of the more important things in the Heavens, and even more, absolute loyalty to the Gods is necessary. If an angel does cause a major problem, the angel is punished by getting his/her powers sealed and exiled from the Heavens as "fallen". The Guardian Angel Marietta Yggdra meet in Heaven's Gate, in this game "Knights", Falls because of a sin she commits. Then, in another dimension, Riviera, transforms into an Infernos after having contact with an existence of Hell and appears in front of Ein.
World of Chaos: Hell Hell is the infinite chaos that the Gods cannot touch. The truth of its existence is surrounded by mystery, but it is certain that it is a world where many laws (of nature/existence) are in confusion and the logic of the Heavens and Earth do not work here. However, the fact that the strong stands above the weak does not change. At first in the Ragnorak, the attacks were done without plan (because in the first place, the attacks started because their instinctive greed passed the limit), but later, they later straightened up under order and attacked. They lost after the use of the Grim Angels, but the Gods disappeared and they left themselves known to the Heavens.
Demon God: Demon God is the highest rank in Hell, the one holding high intelligence and some plan (ambition), and commanding armies of demons. Their power and intelligence rival the Gods, but one definite difference is that the Demon Gods do not all consider each other allies and there are times where they fight each other. Of all of the existences in Hell, there are practically none who are in a friendship with the Demon Gods, but for their own purposes, may accept cases against the Heavens. It is possible for Demon Gods to lose their intelligence and fall to an Infernos, and for an Infernos to gain power and become a Demon God. Also, it is possible for an existence from the Heavens to turn into an Infernos by making contact Hell.
Hades Gate:
Basically, it is impossible to go to and from Hades to Earth except through the Hades Gate. If an existence from Hell simply wants to invade Earth, they can just pass through this Gate, but the construction of the Gate connects the different dimensions, so it is not easy for Demon Gods to pass through.
Hell seen from the Heavens:
To the Heavens, the chaotic hell is an unpredictable and unknown territory. Therefore, the Heavens see it as an enemy, and constantly has Guardian Angels and other Angels inspect the Hades Gate and guard the Heavens Gate. The interference from the Heaven's side plus the already confusing gate construction makes it difficult for Demon Gods to pass through, but in the opposite case, if one does get through, both the Earth and Heavens will receive quite some damage. There is always a Heavens Gate to the opposite of Hades Gate for Earth, and if that is destroyed by one from Hades, that world will separate from the Heaven's control and fall under control of Hell. In the Ragnorak, this type of repeated gate construction and destruction has happened.
Knights in the Nightmare World This world is not special like Riviera, but one of the normal "worlds". In that meaning, it is close to Yggdra Union's world. But unlike that world, where the kingdoms were made of a single race, the Knights world has multiple races and holds problems between the Tiamut, Ancestors, and other races. (There are three races of humans, as you can see on your knights' status. The guidebook explains shortly the differences, but I don't really find it too interesting... perhaps.)
Immigrants that created the "Greivniel Knights Kingdom" The knights kingdom was a nation created by the knight orders of the Elval (sp?) people, who moved from the continent to Cent Celestina, a continent that has long received influence from immigrants. There are many races living in the kingdom starting with these three, and a hierarchy exists for the races. -Elvals: The race that rules the kingdom and are in the middle of the politics are the Elvals. Comparatively, they came to the island in the newer generation. -Nesticos: Due to belonging to the knights kingdom right after the nation was created, these ancestors of the island were given the rank of middle class. Their race name means "Ones shined upon by the moon". -Ingjids: Many of excelling intelligence, magic, and because of their talents, are given special privileges in the nation. Their race name means "tree that holds wisdom".
It seems the staff really had a difficult time (1 month or so) on finishing creating all of the knights to fit into their settings. Good work, is all I can say...
Zolgonak's attack: The demon, Zolgonak, that destroyed the knight orders is a demon god who calls himself the 冥王 (dark king?), and appeared in this world with the three Infernos, Rivlia, Dautaros, and Sccopio. Also, after this Zolgonak was defeated by the "arbitrator", he runs to Riviera, where he faces against the Grim Angel, Ein, as Hades.
Usurpation of soul by an existence of Hell: The nation's knights had their souls stolen by demons, and in this situation, their body and soul are simply seperated, and they really are not "dead". Because of that, by inserting a "soul", they can come back to life. However, if they remain in their separated state for too long, they will reach death. This revival through the recovery of the soul was done in Riviera as well.
Eh... Eh! Does this mean that the characters in this game actually get to come back alive?! Yay~~ No need to grieve so much anymore! I hope...
Race: Tiamuts An ancient race that had already existed when the boundary between the Heavens and Hell were vague. Carrying the blood of five dragons, depending on which of the dragons' blood is most dominant, their skin and eye colors vary. Besides their horns and wings, there is barely nothing different from humans, and because of their long life span, they had stored an abundance of wisdom and held glory in Cent Celestina, but they declined from there. And so, as a result, they lose their home to the knights kingdom. In the present, the few remaining Tiamuts live while enduring troubles in the "Sanctuary" inside the old castle.
Heavens that rule the Earth: The Heavens is the world where the Gods, who created the Earths, and the ones under their command live. However, due to the Ragnorak, the Gods died out. Afterwards, the Seven Magi took their place in ruling the Heavens. This realm feels inorganice and digital, ruled by Law and Unity, but over half of the residents, including the Seven Magi, are humanoids with greed and emotions, so law is not always perfectly kept. The objective of the Heavens is to monitor the laws of the worlds and to eliminate forces from Hell who threatens it. They are not trying to overly restrict the worlds, and they allow the worlds to live freely. Also, trying to keep the independence of the Heavens, they will not cross over/interfere with the Earths unless there is an invasion from Hell or something happens to the Heaven's inconvenience.
Gods' successors, the Seven Magi: The strongest organization that existed since the Gods were existent, they are the current rulers of the Heavens. Actually, there is fighting going on secretly between some of the Magi over leadership, but the existence of the organization is an advantage to them all, and to keep their actions from causing them to lose power, they act united on the outside.
Guardians of the Heavens: Angels: Mainly leads the military matters of the Heavens. Artificially created, they do not have natural instincts like thoughts and greed. However, a disturbance from the outside can cause them to express quite a bit of emotions. They are currently working under the Seven Magi, but angels are originally the servants of God, so they do not really have a relationship of loyalty towards the Seven Magi.
Protectors of Law: Humanoid: The main race of the Heavens, they are mainly in charge of municipal jobs to maintain the public order. Different from Angels, they have natural instincts like thoughts, emotions, and greed, but their lives are considerably different from the lifestyles on Earth. Basically, "nutrient supplication" is something necessary for normal lifeforms, but such things like that and digestion are considered "inefficient", so the supplication of nutrients are done by Sleep (idle system)
Hector's Ambition and Leduon Stratum: One of the Magi, Hector, is a terribly ambitious person, and by creating the Grim Angels that only the lost Gods could make, he is a dangerous existence that plans to become God in their place. One of his plans is the creation of the "Leduon Stratum" in Riviera. Leduon Stratum is theoretically a dummy of the Heavens, and Hector used it to directly access Riviera from the Heavens. Normally, it is "impossible" to connect the Heavens and Earth with any route other than the Heavens Gate, so Hector's creation of this caused a great shock throughout the Heavens.
Race: Seven Magi The members of the Magi were originally nothing but a humanoid, but by putting on a mantle that is one of the inheritance from the Gods, they gain the life span said to be godly and eternal. All of them are wearing this mantle and covering their eyes and hiding their identities. This is thought to be their performance, as the successors of the Gods, of "We have lost our own personal ego and become transcendental existences". However, in truth, they are indeed existences of ego, and the power balance between them are constantly changing.
Creator of the Worlds, "Gods": The "Gods" that created the Earths and died out in the Ragnorak. It seems they were an existence with a mental state similar to a computer program, putting the success of a certain objective as their irreplaceable reason to live. It is said that they held no natural instincts of living beings and no human emotions, and no gender, but nothing specific is known. Then only thing that is certain is that their reason for their actions is to bring order to all of the universe.
Reason for the Creations of the Earths: The creation of the Earths were done by the Gods for their only objective to bring order as well. To the Gods, the Earths is a fortress that allows observation on the forces of Hell that disturbs the order. In the ancient times, the Gods had directly observed Hell, but Hell is a constantly expanding space, so it becomes harder to collect correct information as time passes. To counter this situation, the Earths were created. By putting Earth between them, it becomes easier to observe/react to the actions of Hell through the Hades Gate, and even if they allow the forces from Hell to move first, they can buy time by stopping them on Earth. And by increasing the number of Earths, they can counter the expansion of Hell and the information they gather is increased. This is why the Gods created the Earths.
Gods that were Originally One: It seems that the Gods were only one originally in the ancient times and divided into multiple entities. It is a mystery to why the Gods divided, but it is said that by dividing, they tried to maintain the security of a separate being. Any God has the same reason for their actions, but each God has their separate approach, which set them as "individuals".
Abilities of the Holy Scale: After the Gods split, when something happens, all kinds of approaches=solutions are suggested. At that time, the Holy Scale system is used to decide. After the deaths of the Gods, the Holy Scale was used by the Magi to determine good and evil and the such. By the way, you can see this Holy Scale at the beginning of Riviera as you move through Heaven's Gate. This post has been edited by Archeia: Jun 14 2009, 07:59 AM

It all makes sense to me. What exactly makes it a "bullshit" translation? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « So Archangel from Riviera, and Marietta from Knights are one in the same. There's a good possibility the one from Yggdra is the same as well, and may have attributed to her wanting power in Knights. I still feel there's something missing though, but there's always another episode... watch the next game explain that, but bring up something else that needs explaining.
Zolganak being Hades from Riviera... I definately see the resemblance, but like Marietta, it feels like there's another episode to explain why he went to Riviera... then again, it could be because Riviera was a part of Hell in the first place, but still... he could've just returned to Hell. Ah well, speculation is all we can do, and I like speculating. It's what makes a good series more enjoyabe for fans.
Hades Gate... I'm not really sure if that's what we experienced in Riviera Chapter 8, but if not, then it'll be interesting if we ever do encounter that in a future episode.
The scale seems interesting. Now we know what Ledah meant by "Judgement was passed here many times." (or it was something along those lines) I'm curious as to how they used a scale to make decisions though. What did they use as weights?

Rose: Hey Ein, want a can of Red Bull? Ein: Sure! Rose: Too bad, Ledah drank it. Ein: ...

Fuck, I'm just going to get into it. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Okay, we'll disprove this huge claim: that Zolgonak is Hades. And then we'll discredit the Marietta = Rivi Archangel claim as well. The "translation" posits that Zolgonak was defeated and then faced Ein in Parveeju as Hades. This is impossible as Riviera itself says that Hades was sealed by the Gods themselves in Riviera - the Gods dying long before Riviera or YU take place. Not just that, but say that Rivi's Archangel was indeed Marietta. Since YU takes place within a few years of Riviera (perhaps mere months or days; revealed by the fact that they face one of Hector [mentioned by name]'s prototype Grim Angels wielding a prototype of Malice's fake Diviner), that means that Kitten would have to take place sometime in the short period between Riviera and Yggdra Union. Marietta would have had to have been exiled from Heaven (thus having her wings removed) then traveled to Riviera and discovered Hades lying there. Then Hades would have had to give her the power to summon demons as well as restore her wings (and that just doesn't make sense because if he gave her this power why can't he escape Parveeju and why can't she help him do so), and then travel back to Tetyth, populate it with demons and encounter Ein. That's all very convenient timing, and, it could actually be possible... Until you remember the Hades-Zolgonak relationship fails. Because of that, it gives a wide span of time for our lovely Archangel to be borne of Marietta's downfall. But I doubt they're the same. I'll be able to be certain when I finish Kitten.
