Lacrima Castle _ Yggdra Projects _ Blaze Union Translation Project

Posted by: jcdietz03 May 10 2011, 09:39 PM

I am working on a Blaze Union translation here:
http://www.lltvg.com/wiki/Blaze_Union/ja-en

There are some "dirty" voice clips there too (dirty means they include BGM - get your mind out of the gutter).

The goal of this project is not a translation patch. It is to generate a translation and possibly a game script. I'm hoping to get as many voice clips as possible.

I think I am 1% done at this point.

That's seriously a lot of work.

Are you planning to do that all by yourself?

I mean, I think part of the reason he posted it here was to get some help.

I'll do it all myself if I have to. Certain parts I cannot do because I don't know enough Japanese. I'll certainly give it my best shot though.

You don't need my permission if you'd like to help. It is a wiki anyone can edit.

I won't post updates except for major milestones so as not to annoy you guys, but feel free to check the status anytime.

I figured it's better to confirm it than, hypothetically speaking, to jump the gun only to have the other guy screaming at you.

Anyway, I might do some stuff here and there if I'm not too busy. Just finished with my finals, but I may be attending summer classes.

A script dump would help most. Audio dumps would help too. I don't have hacking skills and don't know how to learn.

Other than those, just adding sentences (English or Japanese) would help too.

it's like breaking code you never heard of.

Hmm, I just noticed.

jcdietz03, what exactly are you working on?

Posted by: jcdietz03 May 19 2011, 06:42 PM

Well, wikis are really transparent that way, you see. For example, you can see that I took a short hiatus (I last updated on 05/15/11).

I haven't started the translation for it yet. I find transcription + rikaichan is well more than half the battle.

I'd really be interested in helping out with this. I have some Japanese skills (maybe above intermediate level) which I can put to work. Anything I can do to contribute?

Posted by: chrishawke May 24 2011, 06:44 AM

I think it's a good idea to announce what you're working on so that no two person would be working on the same part. Unless you really want to. For example, I'll work on the JP-to-EN dialogue for Chapter 1, Stage 1 to just before Tutorial 1. Sounds like a plan?

Also, Kinsoku, jcdietz03 has already mentioned what was needed. On the hacking side, there's the need for a script and audio dump. On the translation side, there are the Japanese-to-English parts. Since you're up for translating, I suppose you can go ahead and start translating the dialogues in the wiki.

I'm not good with doing anything remotely related to hacking, so translation is the only thing I can do.

Announcing what you're working on sounds like a good idea to me. I went ahead and did the Stage 1 dialogue up to the first tutorial, the misc. menus, cards and character abilities. Then I got lazy. :P There's a lot of text in that first stage.

Many many months later, the first chapter has been translated. :P Planning on doing bits and pieces every now and then.

EDIT: Herp. I realize now that I meant stage...not chapter. :P

Thank you for the hard work~

That looks like it was a lot of work, thank you very much.
