Engrish in KitN Options

Okay folks, this thread is dedicated to the use of Engrish in Knights in the Nightmare.

Let's start with the promo video, found on the KitN website:

"One night, the denizens of the abyss, led by Zovornak, emerged out of nowhere and slayed all the kings men..."

Pretty much the only thing I found in the whole thing is "slayed all the kings men" which sounds like engrish to me. Killed all the king's men? Massacred the king's men?

Certain dialog boxes: Touch the box. (Groan) Sometimes: Touch either box.
Other dialog box: Go Next. (argh)

One word: KILL

[A knight joins you]: Join In! (?)

[Before battle]Get ready! Engage!

[Get an item in battle]Item gotten!

Warrior:
[Activate]The warrior: Activated!

On turn result screen:
KILL OUT!

On scene result screen:
Drive Tech (?)

One enemy slots screen:
Touch the box to be defeated enemy

"slayed all the kings men" which sounds like engrish to me. Killed all the king's men? Massacred the king's men?

Not Engrish. It is entirely grammatically correct, and while it sounds a bit redundant, it's not awkward.

How is this Engrish? Do you now know English, because that's a requirement for identifying Engrish.

How are any of these examples of Engrish? The only one I could think would even be a contended is "KILL OUT", but that's not. It's merely pointing out when you KILL (your way) OUT.

Awkward, but certainly not Engrish.

Well, it's just my personal opinion. It's okay if you disagree.

How is this Engrish? Do you now know English, because that's a requirement for identifying Engrish.

"Get ready!...Go!" is an English phrase. "Get ready!...Engage!" isn't. Though it is still grammatically correct.

I'm just not sure I know what "Drive Tech" is. Maybe that's why I think it's Engrish. It may not be. It's an abbreviation for something. Tech=Technique, which is an appropriate word for the situation. I'm just not sure what Drive is.

This sounds awkward. "Fought your way out" or "All enemies defeated!" is more natural. There's space onscreen for it, too.

The warrior quote isn't Engrish, I just thought it sounded strange.

KILL. I would say DEAD because it indicates the current status of the enemy. The HP bar is displayed when the enemy isn't dead. It's not appropriate to put a verb there. Or at least use the proper tense: KILLED.

Grammar is not a matter of personal preference. Unless your personal preference is to be wrong, which almost seems the case with you.

You're saying then, that "Get Ready!...Engage!" IS an English phrase. This is true, but it's not very common...probably not what a native speaker would say. More common is Get Ready!...Go!.

"Go" is less descriptive than "Engage". Also, "Get Ready... Engage!" was used in the ENGLISH version of Marvel Versus Capcom 2.

Engrish means there's something actually wrong, not that there's something that doesn't sound common. Awkward wording is not a grammar error, and "it's not common" is not at all an indicator of Engrish.

There you have it.
Feel free to edit Wikipedia if you don't agree.

To me, non-standard=Engrish. There's standard English, like the first line in the promo video: "Somewhere between heaven and the underworld stood an ancient castle known as Avenheim." This is standard English, there are no problems with it.
