Summon Night

The link above is about a game for the GBA called Summon Night. It's an RPG that Atlus had planned in their GBA line-up. It seem to have gotten a pretty good impression from the people of IGN --- mainly because it uses a battle system similar to Namco's Tales of Phantasia.

More news: according to RPGamer, there seems to be a second game with the same name, slated for the same platform. Summon Night is coming out in July, with the second game out in the same month as the US version of Yggdra Union.

Thoughts?

Teru made me check out this game.
The videos make it look relatively interesting though the second seems better than the first (in graphics, sound, smoothness, everything).
Of course, I'll see soon enough, I suppose.

I haven't seen any of the videos yet, but from what I've read and seen with the images, it does look very interesting, although frequent random battles? Hmm...Anyway, one of the images really stood out. XD

Look interesting... I'll keep an eye on it.

GBA lacks in RPG games, so I hope it will be good.

Looks pretty cool. Gonna pick this up in July. At least the gameplay is faster then ToP.

I meant that there isn't many RPG that are good on the GBA.

There's actually a lot of them, most games on GBA are either RPG or Platformers. But only a few of them are really good, like Riviera, YU, Pokemon, Golden Sun, and such.

Sorry for the double post,

Well, I played the Japanese version of this game today, and I have to say, it's pretty damn cool. Though I can only read about half of the kanji, even if you can't read japanese, you'll still be able to understand what's going on by way of facial expressions.

The battle system is similar to the Tales series, actually it's almost the same as ToP except you move a lot faster.

Anyway, when it comes to the U.S. next month, I recomend buying it.
I know like hell I am.

This actually one in a whole line of games. And yep, following modern RPG tradition, except for a few, they're non-linear. And the gameplay is superb. I just preordered the 2nd and 3rd for GBA.

I won't say anymore than that, because I don't want to ruin an awesome game series for you all.

Hmm, looks interesting. It got a small preview in this month's Newtype and there's an ad for it in the magazine too. It looks to get an E10+ rating though.
