It looks like an "f" without the horizontal bar. Or with a smaller one. This confusion is what eventually led to its abolishment some time around WW2.
Germany still used that old font which included the "ſ" throughout the early 20th century, haha. Too bad that ended eventually. :(

The s thing doesn't seem like that big of a deal. :/

Changing names was probably prompted by a character-space issue, so it's not like it's as bad as I heard the localization was for the first Persona game. Although then again I haven't actually looked at the localized version so I don't know. :|

Kreimhild to Gudrun and Hildegarde to Hilgard are a few we like to attack. I can understand Hilgard somewhat, but Kreimhild to Gudrun is stupid. Aligherie to Algiery is another one we really dislike.

In before PPA proceeds to say Gudrun is a beautiful name that ANYONE WHO DOESN'T LIVE IN GERMANY DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE.

*Kriemhild
Which I prefer to Gudrun by the way, primarily due to the Nibelungen saga.

Also both of the official spellings are wrong and it should be Hildegard.

On a side note, the Phoenix Wand in this game was localized as Gladius, as per the name it has in Japanese.

We all know Gladius is a type of sword, not a wand. Furthermore, it's been localized four times prior as Phoenix Wand and not Gladius.

It's less about names and more about Atlus translating based on nonsense.

I DON'T THINK YOU REALIZE, RAI, THAT MORE EXPECTATIONS COME FOR THOSE WHO DON'T SUCK AS MUCH S OTHER COMPANIES

Plus, how many of us do you actually think have the right to complain about changes in meaning? More than half of us can't read.

Changes in meanings can be subtle, and sometimes things you don't need to be able to read Japanese to recognize (for example, when they cut/retranslated the text from the banners in YUGBA).

How is that a change in meaning? There's a difference between just removing something altogether and changing it to mean something else.

I assumed Rai meant changes in meaning of DIALOGUE, rather than events.

And no, I missed all of the arguments about that.

... You were a PART of those arguments. You were the one who first realized that there was indeed a difference between what was said in the different releases of the game. You created this topic afterwards to point it out and discuss it.
