Lacrima Castle _ Other Sting Games _ Treasure Hunter G

Posted by: Rhiannon Apr 30 2006, 04:51 AM

Yes. I've made a topic dedicated to Treasure Hunter G for the SNES. It's another game by Sting. If you don't know who Sting is, why don't you know? Who are the creators of Riviera and Yggdra Union? Is it Sting? Yes it is Sting. And if you don't know what Riviera or Yggdra Union are, you probably shouldn't even be here.

Treasure Hunter G is really fun. And cute. The battle system is different and fun. Something that Sting has a habit of doing. The story so far doesn't seem like anything amazing, though. But don't let that stop you! The cuteness and the battle system overshadow its flaws.

I actually only wanted to make this to show off pictures from it. Why? I don't know. I wanted to. But if I can get other people interested in THG, it's a good thing.

Um. Yeah. I like the Frog Casino, but I'm terrible at it. Poor frogs...

CUTENESS?

WELL SIGN ME UP.

Silliness aside, I may pick this up.

Posted by: Rhiannon Apr 30 2006, 05:10 AM

"Pick this up"?

Good luck with that. :<

PICK IT UP?

Regardless.
I haven't gotten to most of the comedy I keep hearing from her about, but it does have a neat battle system. And, I have to say, thus far, Ponga is a battle god. Regardless of his being a violin-playing monkey.

I have my sources.

Posted by: Dr Sturm Apr 30 2006, 05:17 AM

So you can find a physical copy of the game?

Posted by: valkan Apr 30 2006, 05:32 AM

I found working copies of Lufia 1 AND 2 when people said it couldn't be done.

Posted by: Dr Sturm Apr 30 2006, 05:34 AM

Treasure Hunter G never left Japan though.

Posted by: valkan Apr 30 2006, 05:43 AM

Neither did YS 5. Guess who got it?

Posted by: Rhiannon Apr 30 2006, 05:45 AM

Was it Ash?

Posted by: Dr Sturm Apr 30 2006, 05:49 AM

Then why did you give Lufia 1 and 2 as examples?

Posted by: valkan Apr 30 2006, 05:54 AM

Lufia 1 and 2 are examples of really rare games, US or JAPAN.

It just so happens they were released in the US.

YS 5 was a Japan only release, but was actually easier to find for me.

go figure, i got mine from a friend, Lufia 1&2 that is, and Treasure Hunter G rocked. w00t!!

Posted by: Raijinili May 5 2006, 08:00 PM

But it's in Japanese, val.

Everyone should play this game.

Everyone.

Posted by: Irysa Feb 18 2008, 02:34 AM

Is there a translation patch?

Posted by: Greifer Feb 18 2008, 02:43 AM

I never found one.

Still a fun game though.

There sure is. Check out http://romchacking.net
To the best of my knowledge, there is only one version of this game (the SNES version). I heard this game was on Japanese Wii Virtual Console, but to me that doesn't count as a different version.

It was published on the Nintendo's Virtual Console service on December 25, 2007 in Japan.

Yes, it indeed is on the Wii virtual console, but that doesn't help the majority of us.

Also, I'm stuck in this game because, due to the fact that I have no non-SP healing items and one other thing, I cannot heal in a certain boss fight. :( I totally get raped within the first few turns.

Well, as soon as I motivate myself to start working on the guide I was making for this, I'll figure out what you could do, Rhia. :|
