Lacrima Castle _ Computeralogical Stuff _ Your computer

Posted by: Dr Sturm Dec 26 2005, 09:13 PM

The hard drive thread made me decide to make this. So blame Sara.
Anyways, just post the specs for your computer (the one you use most often).

Mine:
PowerBook G4 1.5GHz
15" (built-in) Color LCD (1280x854x32)
Combo Drive (DVD, CDRW)
80GB Toshiba ATA Hard Drive (74.53GB Formatted, 10.59GB left)
Airport Extreme (WiFi B/G)
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 (128 MB VRAM)
512MB Main Memory (256x2)
Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.3)

I wish I had put off buying it for about 6 months though. The speed, memory, GPU and a few other things got better, and the price went down.

CD Burner(don't know speed)

380+ MB Physical memory (can go up to 512)
Windows XP Professional (pirated) / Ubuntu Linux 5.10 / Kubuntu Linux 5.10 / OSX86 / Slackware Linux / FreeBSD / Sun Solaris...

Also. I think you have an unnecessary amount of OSs on your 20GB HDD. Do you even use all of them?

Posted by: valkan Dec 26 2005, 10:07 PM

A Laptop cannot have TRUE surround sound, however, it can have simulated surround sound stereo speakers (like the DS).

Posted by: Swiyth Dec 27 2005, 03:46 AM

hmm.....maybe one day they'll invent external speakers for laptops.

Posted by: Dr Sturm Dec 27 2005, 04:00 AM

You do know, that you can plug speakers into ANYTHING with a headphone jack, right?

Posted by: Swiyth Dec 27 2005, 04:07 AM

well, now i do. or somewhat more of it.

Posted by: blues 3 Dec 27 2005, 04:24 AM

Ok I understand that *has a DS*. Heh, right now I'm playing a song on my laptop going through realplayer and windows media player at the same time. I sychronized them...it sounds really neat.

Posted by: Swiyth Dec 27 2005, 09:42 AM

uhuh. but its still from the same com, ain't it?

Posted by: blues 3 Dec 27 2005, 10:07 AM

It uh....sorta. I can't really explain it...but if you sychronize them right certain instruments sound really cool (guitar mostly) I should try with 3. Heck, I got the memory for it ^_^.
