Lacrima Castle _ Riviera _ Riviera... Calendar?

Posted by: Anubimon Dec 1 2006, 06:12 AM

Er, forgive me if this was posted elsewhere. I didn't see another topic on this.
While browsing the Riviera PSP website, I came across http://www.sting.co.jp/riviera/psp/special/calendar/index.htm and was wondering if anyone had any details on what it is? I can gather that it's a calendar you can either buy on CD or on actual paper, but that's about as far as I can figure. What exactly is on the different CDs...?
Also, I assume that http://www.sting.co.jp/riviera/psp/special/tokuten/index.htm is an artbook? Quite sexy. >>
So, yeah... anyone have more details about either of those?

Posted by: Dr Sturm Dec 1 2006, 06:16 AM

The first is a set of discs with character art. Nothing more. They do nothing when you put them into a disc drive, except perhaps ruin said disc drive. What you do is buy the calendar film, and place it on the disc. Bam, calendar disc.

The latter, the Designer's Works, is a preorder bonus. It's a forty-page, hardcover art book spanning the art of RiviWSC, RiviGBA and RiviPSP.

Posted by: Anubimon Dec 1 2006, 06:25 AM

The discs seem so pointless. Still, the art is nice.
I'd love the artbook, but I'm sure it's impossible to obtain. Ah well.
Thanks for the info.

So there's no other way to get the art book unless you Preorder the game...god dammit son of a b-

Posted by: Raijinili Dec 1 2006, 07:42 PM

Malice looks older...

Posted by: Anubimon Dec 2 2006, 04:45 AM

Well, I found the artbook for pretty cheap on Yahoo Japan Auctions, and a friend of mine in Japan offered to let me get it shipped to him, and he'd send it to me. I dunno if I want to do it, though. Does anyone else plan to get the artbook or anything?
I'd love to scan it if I got it, but I have no scanner. *Emo tear*

Posted by: Dr Sturm Dec 2 2006, 04:54 AM

Get it sent to me. I'll forward along the money.

Since Play-Asia failed to get me a copy with my game.

I could do that, if you could provide good scans for everyone.
I'll have to think about it though.

Posted by: Dr Sturm Dec 2 2006, 05:04 AM

Scanning would be one of my first actions when I got it.
I wouldn't be a very good admin if I deliberately kept Riviera stuff to myself.

Haha, of course.
Well, http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h42507232 is the auction I'm looking at. 800 yen is the current bid, shipping is apparently 200 yen for regular, and 500 for express. And it has about 10 hours left.
There are other auctions for the book though.

Oh God, this art is so cute! ;____; Somebody just has to get these and upload the art on LCN, it's too adorable not to have on the site! @____@~~~~~~~

*stares at smiley Malice*

I... never thought I'd say it, but she looks sooooooooooo huggable like that...

*stares at smiley Ledah... and faints from sheer fangirlosity*

Posted by: Takara-chan Dec 18 2006, 10:55 AM

... I don't get the calendar film thing....

Though I love the art!!! Can't wait for scans!!!

Posted by: Desu Dec 18 2006, 04:15 PM

Somehow, I find the CD art to be a little strange and I don't like them...
Maybe it's just me...
Malice freaks me out.

Posted by: Feral Phoenix Dec 18 2006, 06:08 PM

...well, I thought it was really cute...

Posted by: Desu Dec 18 2006, 07:39 PM

Well, it's just that I find them wierd looking...
(Ledah looks cool though)
and I don't mean that they really are.
It's just that I don't like it.

I'm really sorry if I offended anyone

Posted by: Enzd Dec 18 2006, 08:32 PM

Malice looks hot in hers... >__>;

But, so does Cierra. And Fia.

._.

Posted by: Malice Dec 18 2006, 10:07 PM

Designer's works seems pretty awesome o__O.

I would get it if I had the money and stuff. :/

Posted by: Desu Dec 19 2006, 05:13 PM

I can never get the artbook.
I didn't preorder the game, and I'm not allowed in auction stuff
All I can do is wait for scans...T_T

Posted by: Anubimon Dec 22 2006, 03:45 AM

Scans of the artbook should be coming sometime soon.

Posted by: Rune_Ocarina Dec 22 2006, 04:31 AM

It's a shame America doesn't get cool items like the art book when you pre-order a game. Maybe a special edition of the game that you pre-order, but nothing as good as what Japan gets.

Although there were some times when the pre-order gift in the States were moderately good.

Posted by: Anubimon Dec 26 2006, 04:39 PM

Well... I thought they'd be sometime soon. Looks like it may take a few weeks now. >> Sorry.

Posted by: Dr Sturm Dec 26 2006, 07:55 PM

You've failed us. Shame.

Posted by: Feral Phoenix Dec 28 2006, 10:53 PM

As long as it's coming eventually, I can wait. ^__^;;

Posted by: Anubimon Jan 23 2007, 10:04 PM

Eheh, sorry it took so long, but here is the artbook: http://www.sendspace.com/file/iwwxi5
Enjoy!

Posted by: Dr Sturm Jan 23 2007, 10:33 PM

Hm. Not exactly as comprehensive or extensive as I would have liked, but, STILL VERY MUCH WANT.

And I suppose since there's a lot of art missing from it, that means I'll have to produce some better scans of the guide book art...

But an oddity, why is the making of art for the WSC version so utterly superior to the shit they put in the game?

Posted by: Chaos Seraph Jan 23 2007, 11:04 PM

In case anyone's wondering, you need to spam click like crazy on the download link. It might take a few minutes.

Posted by: Dr Sturm Jan 23 2007, 11:17 PM

I http://www.lacrimacastle.net/Riviera_DesignersWorks.rar it to LCN for those sick of spamming the link.

Posted by: Chaos Seraph Jan 23 2007, 11:20 PM

Also good.

I have to agree on the WSC artwork material. I dunno who decided the final versions, but they really picked the wrong ones. :\

Yeah...not that many companies give out cool gifts for pre-orders, usually small, medium profiled companies give out these gifts, like Konami who was giving out artbooks for Suikoden IV and V and a nice PSP metal case for the Metal Gear: Portable Ops game. It would be nice if Atlus included an artbook as a pre-order bonus for RiviPSP if it comes out in April...

Googling efficiently requires great skills and effort. Not everyone can accomplish such a task.

Posted by: Dr Sturm Feb 1 2007, 04:30 AM

That's not a sufficient excuse when the proper site while googling "winrar" is the first result.

Thank you... *hugs*

I'm at school right now, winrar is blocked (because this frickin' server sucks), but I'll download it over the weekend.

Posted by: aerozero Feb 2 2007, 12:09 AM

Your school blocks the winrar site? lawlz School firewalls are hilarious, they won't let you download a win rar program but will allow you to download anime and movies.

Posted by: Feral Phoenix Feb 2 2007, 01:14 PM

Actually no it won't. It's a really lame, sucktastic block thing. They use the Brown Bess brand, and it blocks everything. I mean everything.

(It's amazing that LCN isn't on the blocklist actually. It was once last year before they changed filters...)

Posted by: Chaos Seraph Feb 2 2007, 01:22 PM

LCN is totally blocked unless I am logged out. For some reason.

Posted by: Feral Phoenix Feb 2 2007, 04:06 PM

That's... odd, to say the least.

Posted by: Chaos Seraph Feb 2 2007, 04:57 PM

I really don't understand my school system. It blocks all of Wikipedia and half of Google Searches about anything under "Dangerous Files", but freely lets me browse off on pages littered to death with Pop ups from anything or forum pages full of swearing. I think it has something against Sturm's name though, because I've occasionally managed to get inside threads where he hasn't posted at all.

ANYWAY.

Posted by: Feral Phoenix Feb 3 2007, 10:10 PM

FINALLY DOWNLOADED WINRAR.

*gasp*

Now we'll see if it'll install. (I really hope so...)

Posted by: Feral Phoenix Feb 5 2007, 01:19 PM

YAY!

Downloaded the RDW... and yeah, it's pretty. XD

Wish I could read all the kanji in the liner notes though...

Posted by: Crest Apr 9 2007, 01:11 AM

Um...sorry for the thread necromancy (woah this is from a while ago) but the link for the calendar is dead :< Could some kind soul please reupload it?

Posted by: Dr Sturm Apr 9 2007, 01:14 AM

The link still works for me.

Posted by: Crest Apr 9 2007, 07:15 PM

O.O It does? For me when I click the link it sends me to a page that tells me that the file was deleted.

//edit
Oops <_<. I hadn't noticed the link Dr Sturm posted ~_~. Silly me.

Posted by: peachie Jan 28 2008, 12:42 AM

Wah~~ I'm too late!! Just found this site a few days ago lol.
I really wanted to see the designer's work badly though.
Will anyone kindhearted reupload it again?
Both links to download are not working.

Posted by: Rhiannon Jan 28 2008, 01:17 AM

Here you go: http://www.leyviur.net/Riviera_DesignersWorks.rar

Posted by: peachie Jan 29 2008, 09:08 AM

Hey, thanks for the link~~ I got it...
Wow, what alot of changes Riviera gone through since the WSC version~~
Ein still look pretty cute in the past, hehe~~

Posted by: Durango Aug 7 2010, 07:19 PM

Did anyone notice the bath scenes in the art book are even less censored than the ones in the game? Lina's legs are visible in contrast to what's on the WSC version.

Posted by: MaxLos Aug 27 2019, 09:46 AM

I'd honestly be surprised if anyone replies but can someone post another link, the last one is dead too :(

Posted by: Raijinili Sep 2 2019, 06:24 AM

leyviur.net was our temporary domain when lacrimacastle.net was nicked by a squatter.

That's a hint, by the way.
