Lacrima Castle _ Miscellaneous _ Multitasking

Posted by: P.P.A. Dec 3 2009, 04:04 PM

In recent times I have found myself unable to keep up with my endeavours. There's many things I need to read, pictures I need to draw, chapters of my story to be written, and even a few games to be played and anime to be watched. However, a day is only so long and my speed at working through all of this has grown insufficient. Things pile up and I cannot do as much over the course of a sun's journey as I would like to, even if I'm diligent.

This is partially because I can only do one activity at once. While I take the liberty to keep chatting at the expense of some speed (which I however embrace because I think talking to others is rather the subversion of a waste of time), I'm unable to do any of the above simultaneously. If I write I can't draw at the same time, if I watch an anime I'm too occupied to read through wikipedia articles. Is there any way to increase my productivity to become faster and more efficient?

Multitasking is bad for you. Science proved it.

I'm currently pursuing to simply eliminate all open tabs I have yet to read so I'll be free from them. I think it's less that I need to be more productive but rather that I don't want anything left to do which isn't a long-time thing liek drawing or writing, now that I think about it.

Extra arms sounds good though

Hire a spanish man named Jose to help.

NOBODY CAN HANDLE TWO BIRDS AT ONCE!!!!

also i said. at every single day you do only one task. EX:

monday you play game 1

thursday you read the book 1

and soo on until its sunday(or saturday if so you can get 2 days to rest) you take a break then starts everything again at monday. its simple and it works! remenber the year have 365 days usualy.

Draw while you watch anime. Problem solved.

Posted by: P.P.A. Dec 5 2009, 09:25 AM

That would be at the cost of quality though.

I guess I'm just freaking out too much. It would probably be better if I just dedicated some time to get things I've been delaying up until now out of the way so I can just sway with what I feel like doing again. (Which I have been working on for a few days already, the count of eternally open tabs is already down to half.)

are you by any chance reading my posts?

do that and your problems are over!

Sleep later. You'll eventually adjust to it soon anyway. And, yes, you should draw and watch anime @ the same time.

Posted by: P.P.A. Dec 6 2009, 07:38 AM

I seriously doubt this is possible. I need to look at the subtitles all the time after all.
Also I already don't sleep before 2:00, I don't know if even later would be healthy...

Okay, then you could compose yourself and do one thing every one or two hours or so.

Posted by: Shiokazu Dec 8 2009, 04:04 AM

just do the fucking programation, and follow it, everything will be fine. BELIEVE ME!

Posted by: Elnendil Dec 9 2009, 09:53 AM

Why multitask? Just merely take a few hours out of the day and pick one of them to do. For example, write for 1~3 hours, play for 1~3 hours, the rest can be whatever you want.

play for 1~3 hours

...

Well, aside from that it's a good idea though and sort of what I'm doing just unfortunately not organised.
Also these exams are messing up my schedule a bit. I don't actually study for them but merely knowing that I am kind of supposed to throws me off. x)

I'm not sure what to tell you. I have problems with being on schedule from time to time, but i'm a bit more organized I guess.

Oh it's fine, with the exams coming to an end it seems my rhythm is recovering again into a healthy patterns. Thanks though!
