Lacrima Castle _ Yggdra Game Help _ BF 39

Posted by: Rook Mar 9 2007, 02:11 AM

Hey sorry to come here again begging for help...but i cant seem to get Baldus! Ive either run out of cards completly or everyone dies...and he keep rehealing minself! Could any one give me some pointers...i MUST be missing something...

Posted by: Dr Sturm Mar 9 2007, 02:24 AM

Damage him with your second most powerful card on his turn, then your most powerful card on your turn. You have two unions, ten skirmishes to take him down.

Posted by: Rook Mar 9 2007, 02:53 AM

Well i can take the others easily enough and saveing my strong cards for him, then on him i been trying to use a combo of Gravity chaos and Crusade...cause those seemed to have the best power against him...but to no avail and those two appear to be my most powerfull next to Ace Guard. Soooo i should just sit tight and make him come to me...throw out Gravity Chaos and then when its my go...slap him with Crusade? Hmm...me thinks a plan is forming....thanks for the help. Ill give it a shot!

Posted by: Dr Sturm Mar 9 2007, 02:56 AM

Crusade is bad.
Only one unit can get a decent damage rating from it.

Posted by: Rook Mar 9 2007, 03:38 AM

Yeah i forgot then untill too late....danggit...well back to the drawing..err planning board!

Posted by: Ichinomiya Kantarou Apr 17 2007, 10:05 AM

i got 1 for u...try steal on him...+70% moral down...if cant...try crusade...+90% moral down...if both still cant...smack him with grav chaos then do the steal and crusade...he will die in about 1-2 turns..

Posted by: Dr Sturm Apr 17 2007, 01:34 PM

There's a reason Crusade has a 50% bonus, you realize: because you can't have an units alive but the head. It's not a massive up in morale damage like everyone seems to think, it really is just for last ditch efforts. And Gravity Chaos will be rather ineffective here.

Posted by: Ichinomiya Kantarou Apr 17 2007, 02:23 PM

grav is onli here to help with the slowing down of baldus...weaken him...during the second half of the entire game, the number of units left standing does not matter anymore...it is what u mess with the enemies...btw the best cards to deal the most moral dmg is: crusade 90%, steal 70%, grav chaos 50%...u do all these cards con tinual to a main enemy example gulcasa u will see ur 1st charge the enemy moral will fall to 30-40% of the max moral

Posted by: Dr Sturm Apr 17 2007, 02:36 PM

Yes, the amount of members left standing does matter since it adds to your damage total. And Gravity Chaos will do nothing to him. If you forgot, Baldus has status guard, and with his high GEN, the maximum amount of members you'd be able to take out is one. And NOT the head, unless you had a Dark Power raising item equipped.

You also seem to have forgotten that Baldus has HIGH in that battlefield - you can only use two cards against him before your efforts are nullified by completely restored Morale.

In my game I attacked him first with my Steal card and waited for his turn to attack me. Then I stole his item and kicked his butt. And on my next turn, used my next strongest card to take him out.

i actually dunno wad map is baldus in that spark this...though i completed the game...i kinda forgotten wad map is bf-39...so i presume it is the map before the flood...anyway baldus is kinda easy to defeat...but the onli unit capable of defeating him with ease is milanor...and not even durant is on par with him...

btw lord ryo u watch shakugan no shana? ur dp is...........shana?

Posted by: Desu Apr 18 2007, 01:09 PM

BF39 is after the flood. I think.
And what do you mean only Milanor? Do you use Rod-users? :(

I easily defeat Baldus with my Roswell and Milanor union

Posted by: Dr Sturm Apr 18 2007, 01:40 PM

Kylier is decent for once against Baldus.

Posted by: Lord Rasler Apr 18 2007, 02:44 PM

I used Gravity Chaos on him, that made it easy for Milanor and Roswell to own him in a Union. I followed up with Steal, stole his item, and that made it even easier.

Posted by: Desu Apr 19 2007, 09:33 AM

Something like what I did.

And no, unless you really have to, don't use Kylier. Waste EXP and maybe if you use her too much, the MVP

Posted by: Another Necromancer Apr 19 2007, 10:33 AM

I'm fighting this exact battle now, except for some reason my Roswell totally sucks, but Durant is at least decent, so I'm going to try having him come at me with Revolution (second most powerful card) equipped, then countering with steal (7000+ power). Can anyone pick a major flaw?

Posted by: Desu Apr 19 2007, 11:00 AM

Did you use Roswell enough? --;
Because if his stats aren't high...then he won't do much good.
Either that or you aren't lucky. But Luck is a skill itself.

Nevermind.

Well then, I don't see much of a problem with what you plan to do...but if you're going to just use Durant, you might have trouble in whittling down Morale even with high POW cards...

Posted by: Dr Sturm Apr 19 2007, 01:12 PM

You can't waste EXP. That's just the stupidest idea I've ever heard expressed in relation to YU strategy.

Yes, of course I watch ♥Shana!♥ I haven't finished the show yet but I will soon. *Oops, off topic huh?*

I saw someone mentioned Kylier, I forgot if she was in this BF. Yeah it would suck for her to get the MVP, but for someone who is having difficulty completing this BF, they might want to consider using her, it'll help.

Posted by: Fujibayashi Suzu Apr 21 2007, 07:11 PM

You can use Kylier but... I've had Baldus completely cream her before. It's really tough to beat him if he pulls off Ace Guard, because he'll REALLY counter for a ton of damage.

Posted by: Another Necromancer Apr 22 2007, 12:48 AM

@ Desu: No, I didn't use Roswell Nearly enough. And thanks to a few kind MVPs, everything of Durant's is 4+ except luck, and he's got the Knight Killer still equipped from a couple of BFs ago.

Anyway, I managed to pass this one, thanks to a couple of lucky criticals and my obscenely powerful Steal card.

Uh, are you sure? I kinda get what Desu was saying. Kylier can't gain EXP, so allowing her to kill people would be taking that EXP away from players who CAN gain EXP.

Posted by: Dr Sturm Apr 23 2007, 02:57 PM

EXP doesn't matter in this game; the stat ups from level ups are negligible.

Posted by: Desu Apr 24 2007, 07:01 AM

But they could still make a difference...

Posted by: Dr Sturm Apr 24 2007, 01:11 PM

No, not that late in the game, when your characters will already be maxing out stats.

Posted by: Fujibayashi Suzu Apr 25 2007, 12:35 AM

It's true, that late on you probably maxed most stats. Hell, my Milanor in BF18 already had max ATK... (Lotsa +2 MvPs)

Posted by: Lord Rasler Apr 25 2007, 09:59 PM

Yeah well, I guess your right. Milanor in my files was maxed a lot earlier in the game.

Posted by: Desu Apr 26 2007, 04:35 AM

Then how about characters that do not get MVP as much?

Nevermind -_-
I'm not helpful, I know.

Posted by: Lord Rasler Apr 27 2007, 08:32 PM

It was either Milanor or Roswell that got MVP most of the time for me.

And even if Kyiler gets MVP, what the hells the point?
