Lacrima Castle _ Yggdra Game Help _ Aegina's Little Tirade
Posted by: Feral Phoenix May 23 2007, 03:12 PM
I just noticed when I was working on getting the script in BF34 that Aegina's assassination/rant scene has two different versions. Usually, she just says:
QUOTE
Aegina: That sword and tiara... I won't let you take them, too!
but in my Rosary save (and, I believe, the first time I went through the game with Roswell--though I can't be a hundred percent sure about this), I got THIS interesting little scene:
QUOTE
Aegina: You were the only one who was officially acknowledged... We were denied not only that status, but our lives as well...
Yggdra: W-what are you talking about?
Aegina: How we suffered to scrape by with our lives... You cannot begin to understand our pain!
Yggdra: What are you saying?!
Aegina: A naive girl like you doesn't deserve such priveleges! Justice would be to strip you of that sword and crown!
Is there a REP requirement that determines which scene you get, is it randomized, or is there some other factor involved?

Well, for starters, it's Luciana who says it, even though it has "Aegina" on the dialog.
And I got this:
QUOTE
Aegina: You...I will never accept you!
Yggdra: What!? What are you talking about!?
Yggdra: Please! Tell me the meaning of this!
Aegina: What's the use...Nothing will change if I tell you now.
Aegina: It's all too late!
Then she gets pwned by the fixed battle...

You'd LIKE to think it's a "fixed battle," wouldn't you?
I got a game over.

What I meant was...

Aegina is unbeatable unless you use Crusade to finish her up.
And if you use a code to keep the enemie's RAGE at 0, the clash goes on forever...

There must be some sort of problem, here. Why are you and Feral constantly posting that same spoiler?
Spoilers for up to like BF44

You are NOT told that the person in BF34 is Luciana until later. Stop saying Luciana instead of Aegina when the spoiler warnings only go up to BF34. I don't care that it's correct, it's still a spoiler.

I've only played through once, but with Roswell in my party I got Feral's second dialogue set. And about that backstory...
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
I've gathered the Aegina and Luciana are Yggdra's illegitimate older sisters, but is there any more official backstory beyond what is said up until their deaths? I.E. Were they supposed to be killed but sought asylum in Bronqia? Just curious, and seeing as the games isn't even officially released here is Australia I don't have much to go on...
I'll stop ranting now.

It is not specified how exactly Aegina is related to Yggdra
Posted by: Fujibayashi Suzu May 26 2007, 07:26 PM
So you only get this little 'rant' if you got Roswell?

Almost makes me think Roswell is the one you are SUPPOSED to get...
Posted by: Dr Sturm May 26 2007, 07:27 PM
Did you read at all? She just said she got it on her Rosary save,
Posted by: Fujibayashi Suzu May 27 2007, 03:57 AM
My bad. Misunderstood a part of it...
I really wonder why I've never seen it then. I've replayed that level many times, out of boredom, and I've never seen Aegina say all that before...
Posted by: Megaolix May 27 2007, 04:19 PM
Maybe mm... Maybe it depends on the number of times you defeat her? There is at least 2 BF when you're not forced to defeat her to finish the BF...
Posted by: SyphonVectorman May 27 2007, 05:53 PM
Hearing that, there could be a TON of factors that could affect the scene...
The obvious one could be REP requirements. Once I start my next playthrough, I'll test out the REP before that BF.
Posted by: Feral Phoenix Jun 25 2007, 04:51 PM
Well, if it amounts to anything, I'd gotten beaten by Rosary once before I beat her, and (largely by luck, as Roswell is REALLY hard to kill for the second time around with Yggdra) I had like two or three REP on him.
So yeah, it could be a REP requirement.

It does also seem to me like Luciana and Aegina are illegitimate. I've heard it theorized also that because they were twins they might have gotten exiled (the whole twin superstition thing), but I doubt that because of everyone's willingness to use the Mind Change card, which depicts twins.
And the story of their actual exile and how they ended up with Gulcasa in Bronquia? Who knows... anything could have happened.
I think Nessiah might have had something to do with their getting away. He might have wanted a "spare" or two just in case Yggdra didn't work out with the Gran Centurio.

Heeey, I was the first who thought of the replacement idea...
Actually, I have a theory about what happened.
The King's wife get children, but they are twins. Naturally, they fear the people will want them dead so they won't bring bad luck. The announce to the people that the "child" died at birth, then ask someone they trust to take care of the twins.
I don't know how many years later, but Yggdra is now born. As she start growing older, let's say when she's 1 year-old, people begin to see similarities between her and the twins (it's not like they could have passed all their life without being seen).
Eventually, the secret is found out, and people want to see them dead. The twins flees, old enough to understand what is going on.
Thus, when offered the chance, they want revenge.
I could have wrote more details, but I plan to use this theory...
Well, I think it's a good theory. What do you think?
Posted by: Feral Phoenix Jun 27 2007, 06:31 PM
In case you've forgotten, Roswell is equipped with the Black Rose Crest, meaning his Rage attacks are boosted, and Yggdra sucks against darkness anyway.
That's why it's annoying. Yggdra at the very same level did perfectly fine against Rosary.
Posted by: Sauce XIV Jun 27 2007, 06:47 PM
I was thinking of a different battle, not BF33. Regardless, Roswell still sucks against Yggdra due to holy weaknesses. If you went and killed Roswell the first time, surely you'd have the Midnight Robe, and hopefully you also got the Princess Dress in BF16. And before you suddenly state that Yggdra can't equip items on BF33 (I'm not sure if she can or not, it's been ages since I last did that battle.), you can equip them on her in the beginning of BF32.
Posted by: WhiteKnight Jun 27 2007, 06:50 PM
She can. I equiped Zolfy in that BF.
Posted by: Dr Sturm Jun 27 2007, 07:02 PM
You should know levels don't mean much in Yggdra Union, as well as the fact that you can equip items in BF33... Like the Princess Dress.

QUOTE(Megaolix)
The announce to the people that the "child" died at birth, then ask someone they trust to take care of the twins.
Well I think they were actually abandoned, like Romulus and Remus were. Twins are bad, so what's the problem into leaving them somewhere to starve until death?
Then there's maybe some point where Gulcasa's father or someone else related to Gulcasa saves them... but there's no information in the game about this.
And don't forget they HATE Yggdra. They envy Yggdra's princess status.

Abandonned... Hey, that could work. They have been abandonned, but someone found them and took care of them... Because they were twins, they were not much liked by anyone except their caretaker...Then Yggdra is born and people notice the similarities... And they have no problem to try to kill them now... Caretaker died while protecting them, and the twins flee to Bronquia...
Didn't they say that she stole everything from them? That she was chosen instead of them?
Also, to remember what was done against them and to hate Yggdra so much, they should at least have been in in the country when Yggdra was born.
Posted by: Dr Sturm Jun 28 2007, 04:23 PM
What makes you think people "noticed the similarities" and tried to kill them? Why do people always have to go for the most conspiratorial and tragic situation?
Posted by: Feral Phoenix Jun 28 2007, 06:21 PM
This topic isn't really about theories anyway... it's about what determines which scene you get.
And a lot of that stuff should be under spoiler
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
'cause Sturm already said that just because it's Luciana who actually says it, any "twins" discussion still counts as spoilers
so hide it before Ash gets mad and bans the lot of us.
Speaking of which: Has anyone made progress there?
And: I did not equip the Princess Dress on Yggdra at that time because I was saving it for I forget when. *shrug* It made life a lot harder and more annoying. And since the Princess Dress is a 3-map item, just using it for BF33 is a waste--it breaks when she uses the Miracle Tiara for that BF and it becomes a permanent part of her statistics.

That's why you plan ahead and equip it for the Dark Element-heavy BF31 and BF32, too.
Posted by: Feral Phoenix Jun 28 2007, 06:41 PM
But those are easy because they are devoid of Black Rose Crest.
Posted by: Dr Sturm Jun 28 2007, 07:01 PM
And with Dark nullification they're even easier, and you're not wasting an item (something you seem quite concerned with).
Posted by: Feral Phoenix Jun 28 2007, 07:11 PM
But, see, I have this really bad habit of going "What if I need it later?" and saving everything just in case and then by the time the end of the game rolls around I always go, "Well, damn, I should've used this sooner..." cause I don't need them then.
Yeah. Actually I should probably use it earlier in the game when it's useful. @_@

Long time ago why did they say that TWINS are bad? Its good you know cause its damn hard to get twins that have identical faces..blah,blahblah. Only 3 in 1000 deliveries are twins worldwide. WTF,Stupix,Moron King. It IS GOOD LUCK NOT BAD LUCK YOU KNOW!! THANK GOD YOU GET INSIDE TO BE THE 3 DELIVERIES. Poor sisters, why Yggdra was so Naive???? Cause...

1.Why she didn't ask his father, the king WHY she doesnt have any sisters.(Cause all royal families have a ton of family members, usually.
2.Why she can't think why Luciana can enter the Holy Land cause ONLY royal lineage can enter the place??That should be THE direct answer to it.Ugh...thinking about this makes me want to give justice to the sisters....Gonna do some fanfics for this!!
Poor royals, turned into peons(????) by some STUPID,NONSENSE superstitions.Thanks...this is what I think of this....beliefs.Sorry for that harsh words used by me....(STILL ANGRY).I hope I can get into the game and...uhh...never mind
Posted by: Raijinili Aug 12 2007, 07:56 AM
Because twins being an heir causes war in a time when inheritance was determined by order of birth, maybe.
Posted by: Suzu Fujibayashi Aug 13 2007, 02:22 AM
I think it's a old, old superstition. And back then, superstitions were all the rage. People were very superstitious.
So it makes sense really...
Posted by: sandpenguin Aug 13 2007, 06:42 AM
Raj,simple!! Just remember who ....erm goes out first from the....errr and that's gonna be the next heir!!(Twins).Bah...stupid superstitious but I DID believe some of the superstitious but this??Crap.
Why...Why...Why...If not because this superstitious maybe many of the events in this game will not happen.Maybe Paltina Army manage to defeat Gulcasa's Behemoth??
Still,Yggdra naive and she kills her OWN sisters!! Fantastic ALLOWED killing!!Thanks....(Still Angry..waiting...waiting). YAY!! 1more week school and then HOLIDAYS!!!Damn homework...
