I'd go for the manga. You can understand at least half of it just by looking at the pictures.

I think it's supposed to be Yggdra Union The Complete Guide.
In play-asia (And maybe other places) it's named Tour Guide because of mistake.
This manga isn't really following the storyline of the game, it's mostly funny short stories by different artists.
I don't have this manga yet...maybe when it's in bookstores here...

Well, unlike the artguide, this is actually reasonably priced, so feel free to import. It's like 800 something yen, which would be around 8 USD.
And if someone does get it and scan it (I'm not willing to take the thing apart if I get it), I do know someone who could probably scanlate it. She's been doing Tales-of doujinshi scanlations for a long time now.

I never really went for the art, since it's all Milanor and Yggdra and Gulcasa (two of which I don't like, guess which ones). Unless it includes almost all the characters, I'll skip out on the Tour Complete Strategy guide.

As a fellow artist I can't help feel offended or whatever it's complicated.
It is quite understandable YU's Art Guide is expensive thinking that it consists all the concept art to the final art of the cgs and god knows how many characters Yggdra Union has.
A professional artist asks for 40$ per hour for each piece of artwork. Think of how many characters Yggdra Union has plus the arrangement of the contents of the art book (which is roughly 143 pages) and the publishing. It is an art book after all so it's no surprise that it is expensive. And of course it'll be expensive because IT IS FINISHED artwork. If it were all sketches and alike w/o any final product then it's senseless to sell it in the first place.
Anyway...
Can anyone tell me where to buy the strategy guide? I've been looking for it but to no avail :(

I just looked over countless artbooks and a large percentage of them cost 100$ (even cost more in the philippines) comparing Rivi's short artbook YU has a lot of art so think of it as "milking"
Oh and thanks to Rhia, Rai and Chef my mom is buying the art book in exchange for my soul, now I need to draw her 24 Zodiac (both Western and Eastern) ;_;

I'm in a state of disbelief as to how skewed your reality must be if you really think Rai and Sturm don't do that much. If what Mari and Rhia are somehow the largest contibuters, I should be up there too for Baroque scans and what, 3 icons, olololo

The image is displaying for me, so I don't see what you're talking about.
Keep in mind Sturm did a guide for nearly half of YUGBA, Asaph has Baroque scans, Sturm did scans for other things. I'd say Rhia and Mari haven't done all that much in comparison to others as well, so stop putting the highlight on just Rhia and Mari.

Why did you ignore my post? I know better than you what part Sturm had in ripping the images that you used to make your icons.
I only figured out the algorithms (the way of solving the puzzle) for cosntructing the PSP images, and I didn't even do it by myself. Sturm was the one who wrote the programs to rip the images from the PSP games (and if you think this is easy, I challenge you to do it with my algorithms). If I recall correctly, he also made the Card List for YUGBA.
Who do you think wrote the locations and notes into the YU item lists? My data might have been a nice reference, but it's nearly useless if you didn't know how to get the items.

The drawing on the insert flap is adorable and hilarious--if only because Gulcasa and Yggdra have these "ACK ACK" looks on their faces that say they both suck hardcore at video games. XD

Scanlation is the entire process of scanning and translating. If you can't translate, you can't scanlate, you can only scan. If you can't scan, you can't scanlate, you can only translate. If you can't do either you're worthless.

I scanned it today.
Unfortunately, since I ignored my better instincts, I got home only to find that one of the images is completely fucked up, and I don't know how it happened, but the library is closed so it will be Saturday at the soonest (assuming the library is open this Saturday, since it's the weekend before school starts).

Well, Krile got up several new comics having to do with the Imperial Army, as requested by me. While Sturm sorts out his... whatever issues he's having, enjoy them. D:
If Sturm continues to have issues, I'm sure we can get her to scan the rest of the book eventually, so you'll have the scans either way. And I'm going to ask Vyc to help translate as soon as I have bigger images of the new raw scans.

Seeing as you show absolutely no interest in posting the scans you've made and would prefer to argue with Suzu, we don't have much choice but to ask Krile. Why not just close the topic? It has nothing to do with the Yggdra Union Comic Anthology anymore.

I was only posting previews and uncleaned scans because Sturm said he was going to scan in the whole thing, so they're just that. Previews. Until he found enough time to scan them in himself.
Didn't even know my scans would be posted here, to be honest. Not that I didn't want to share, but again, Sturm said he'd do it. I had already scanned in some before he told me that, though, which is why they exist at all.

Sturm is the German word for storm. Dr. is the German short form of Doktor (obviously meaning doctor).

...Uh, thought I'd better point out that the translation of the 4koma with Yggdra and Nietzsche isn't very correct. The lines aren't accurate to what the characters are saying, Yggdra's handwritten line hasn't been translated at all, and the last panel is completely mistranslated. D: The characters' individual speech patterns are ignored, too.
Yggdra's ignored line: It's a little risqué, though...
And the lines in the last panel are:
Cruz: This is awful! The Princess is charging Crusade to use on Nietzsche!
Durant: What the devil are you doing, Prince~ss?!
*Crusade is called Jihad in the original text, but if this is being translated anyway, the English name might be better to use. This part is only my preference, though.
I'm part of a different team working to add English text to the 4koma and short stories, but you guys seriously hurt Krile's feelings when you all insulted the scans she was kind enough to share with everyone. Since she's the scanner for this group and has specifically asked me not to make them public here, I won't. But someone on the scanlation team doing the stuff posted here, please fix it. D: Isn't it better for the fans to have an accurate, non-Engrishy translation?

I don't know about the whole Krile, but that page is just translated by Syku on her own whim. There's no "group" working on it at that time.

but why insult it, after all somebody has to do it... I dunno japanese, and I know that soon a group will form here, I have read about a gorup in a Puyo forum that has translated 15th anniversary, why don't do same here?

Because I didn't see anything about insulting Krile's scans instead I read something about why Feral keeps saying this and that when it's just some random pages not in definite order
I really like what syku did to that page so I asked if we can scanlate YU comic anthology so everyone could understand it and have fun.
But if what feral said is true that they're scanlating it, we'll just give an "engrishy" scanlation then :|
Better show something than nothing, we're doing this on our own whim after all and we're trying our best despite all that.
