Rugrats and Looney Tunes are top-tier old school. Although you could probably argue about either one of them actually being old school. But they are to me.
I'm a fan of Flapjack and Adventure Time, but not so much Chowder. It'll do in a pinch.
I think if I watched Hey Arnold again today, I'd like it a lot more than when I was younger. And of course, this thread would be awful if there was no mention of Invader Zim.
LCN's favorite cartoons? ANYONE EVEN WATCH THEM ANYMORE BESIDES WALRUS AND ME?
LOONEY TUNES WAS THE BEST.
I also happen to be a fan of Courage the Cowardly Dog. And I guess I liked Ed, Edd n' Eddy. It would explain why I kept watching it, anyway.
ANYWAY I'VE HEARD THAT AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER CARTOON IS REALLY AWESOME SO I'LL PROBABLY WATCH THAT SOME DAY.
Also, Tom and Jerry.
I was going to mention Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, actually. That and Looney Tunes are probably my favorite Cartoon Network toons, unless I'm forgetting even more. And I loved Avatar.
I actually don't like Tom and Jerry that much, but that's mostly because I got angry Cartoon Network still shows it and not Looney Tunes.
Well, I will admit it's very samey. And I understand your other reason, since there's really no excuse to stop showing something as great as Looney Tunes.
This thread disappoints me with the lack of DOUG FUCK YEAH
FUCK YEAH DOUG.
DR. KLUTZINSTEIN.
I'd have to say I liked CatDog and Rocko's Modern Life.
I didn't like EE&E that much. Johnny Test FTW
EE&E, Dexter's Laboratory, Hey Arnold, Catdog, Doug, Rugrats, Samurai Jack, Megas XLR (THIS SHOW), Time Squad
There are far too many others
Why hasn't anyone else said Dexter's lab?
:(
I KNEW I FORGOT ABOUT SOMETHING. DEXTER'S LAB AND POWERPUFF GIRLS.
Feeling bad now.
I thought of saying Dexter's Lab, but I didn't
You guys are weird. Doug, Catdog and EE+E always bored me to tears.
Courage and Dexter I agree are awesome.
OH MY GOD.
I FORGOT DIGIMON.
I LOVED THAT SHOW GROWING UP.
I recently watched a bunch of Flapjack episodes on demand and I loved them. The most memorable ones that i can remember are Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed Edd n' Eddy, Doug, Hey Arnold, Rugrats before Dill, Samurai Jack, Rocket Power, Megas X.L.R., Thunder Cats, Animanics, the old Batman cartoon, and there's probably much more that I'm forgetting. I was thinking oif making a top tenh or something but after naming all these it feels impossible.
Looks like we're all about the Cartoon Network shows. We have what... Five nick shows?
And what about Disney? In fact, the only Disney cartoon I really seem to remember liking is Recess. That was Disney right?
Oh, and Freakazoid was cool too. Animaniacs was better.
I think part of it is that a lot of nickelodeons good shows were real life shows. Also I guess its also because I didn't have the right cable service to get cartoon network for a while so when I did get it was amazing. Also while there's been less and less good cartoons out there lately I feel like the few good ones have been showing up on cartoon network.
Also some good shows from the past I forgot: Jackie Chan Adventures, Fairly Odd Parents
So why do they have such awful taste in Reality shows? Destroy Build Destroy? Dude, What Would Happen? That one other one with the young black kid I think his name was Bobby or something that I think already got cancelled? The new one with the history stuff? To be fair, haven't watched that last one.
It all started with Goosebumps. Why couldn't they have left it with Goosebumps?
Because there's only a few good ones left. Plus those shows are probably a lot cheaper to make and kids like explosions. Cartoon Network's the next MTV. Soon, there will be no cartoons.
That's a sad prediction.
Did anyone used to watch Reboot at all, or am I the only one? Also, Code Lyoko? :V
Oh, I liked Recess and Garfield and probably the other stuff I'm forgetting. But I never remember shows from that time. :(
Used to watch Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry, Beast Wars, Batman Beyond, Spiderman, Johnny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Doug, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.
Generator Rex might be a bit more interesting than I first gave it credit for.
SHOWS I WATCHED WHEN I WAS A WEE IMMIGRANT TRYING TO LEARN ENGLISH:
Blue's Clues, The Big Comfy Couch, Little Bear
AND WHEN I SPOKE ENGRISH:
Yugioh, Pokemon, Totally Spies, Sixteen, Inuyasha, Gundam SEED, Witch Hunter Robin, Shaman King, Knights of the Zodiac (aka Saint Seiya)
Those are... Totally pretty much just anime.
I liked Blue's Clues somewhat and I vaguely remember enjoying the couch whatever but never seeing it on. I hated Little Bear.
Powerpuff Girls was my favorite show as a kid. Code Lyoko was awesome because of the pretty 3D animations. And I was really into Teen Titans for a while. I always watched Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy whenever it was on because it was just great. Other shows I liked to watch were Dexter's Lab, Scooby-Doo, Totally Spies, and Tom & Jerry. Just in case it wasn't painfully obvious, Cartoon Network was always my go-to channel. :3
My screenwriting teacher in high school used to do some writing for Doug, I think. I only saw a few episodes but it looked pretty good.
I really want to start watching Avatar: The Last Airbender and Invader Zim because I've heard nothing but good things about them.
Hayate, I could fill up the rest of this page with nothing but quotes from my favorite episodes of Invader Zim. I few of my favorites are:
"I want a table, made of cheese, and a chair, made of cheese, and I want to go dancing... NAKED!"
"They're after me lucky neck meats!"
"And then the giant squirrel ate Dib's greasy head!"
"Is ANYONE not impressed by that?" (after Zim is insulted and reminded that he screwed up and almost destroyed the entire Irken Armada: Singlehandedly.)
The point is you should indeed watch Invader Zim.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
FUCK YEAH
Oh, I was wonder why they were watching it.
I think they watch it ironically. They make fun of it a lot so I'm pretty sure they don't take it seriously. At least, I hope they don't.
Also I feel like I should mention that the animation class I'm taking this semester is giving me a whole new appreciation for animated shorts, cartoons, movies, etc. We've done a bunch of tweening exercises and other things, and I didn't realize how much I was in love with 2D art until now. I want to go back and rewatch all the animated shows I ever watched when I was a kid just to see how the art was handled.
