We all know about the fantastic naked Archangel which is really easy to kill and resides in a lonely Tetythian Cathedral. The Archangel who was expelled from Asgard, yet somehow retains her wings, and somehow became an Accursed. The problems I see with this, is that, according to a few trigger scenes before the fight, you find out that Angels, upon exile from Asgard, have their wings removed. Another problem, is that the Accursed are, according to Ursula, all the children of the Demon God (whom, from dialogue in chapter eight, I presume to be Hades) who was sealed in Riviera "long ago." Unless "children" is used figuratively to denominate the Accursed as the "Demon God's" servants, that implies that they are his offspring, or his creations at the very least. This obviously shows the hole in the Archangel/Accursed's backstory. The only possibility, is that the Archangel is from the time before the Ragnarok, when the Gods were still around, but for this to work, the "Demon God" must have been a normal God of Asgard himself, perhaps outcast after some perfidious act (perhaps even causing the Ragnarok in it or by path of it). But that's overly complicated and doesn't quite fit with the general theme or caste of Riviera, and doesn't explain the retention of her wings, nor the ability to summon demons because that would imply that she is technically a normal Angel.
... So what are all of your thoughts?

"children" could be figurative like you said.

QUOTE (Dr Sturm @ Jul 2 2006, 03:13 AM) | Or we got a less-than-perfect translation. |
I don't think so. The English localization of this game, unlike many others, portrays the situation perfectly. I noticed a little work of "over-localization" only in a few of items, monsters, characters and skills name. The dialogs translation is near flawlessness.
Maybe it's a plot leak.

First off, "Angel" and "Grim Angel" are slightly different.
Angels appear to be divine beings who are generally supposed to serve the Supreme God (You can think of it as the Christian God, Brahma, Zurva, Allah, or any other absolutes you happen to like). They exist as concepts (hence the Dark Progenitors are Angels of Fear, most likely negative emotions in general) and met out their purposes as such. While Grim Angels are super soldiers created by the gods of Asgard to kill Hades' demon soldiers. Hence, Archangel lost her position when she encouraged people to worship her as opposed to the Absolute. She was not, however, some magical person with wings that took orders from Hector. Rather she is the same species as the other accursed, simply an offshoot of it, like how humanity has different races.
