Lacrima Castle _ Other Games _ Immaterial and Missing Power

Posted by: ChefMKT Jun 29 2007, 02:30 AM

Well, this topic is about the game Immaterial and Missing Power. It's a 2D fighter based on the doujin series Touhou. What's really great about this is that you can play it online against other people. A few of us are already doing that. Generally, we organise matches in the IRC channel and hopefully with this, a couple more people will come play with us. For obvious reasons, don't post your IP here for matches.

Posted by: Sauce XIV Jun 29 2007, 02:32 AM

Currently, there's Chef, Walrus, Megaolix, and I who play IaMP in the channel.

Should you wish to join us, feel free to drop by the channel someday. Chef and I can provide all the necessary links needed, so hunting for something isn't required.

Posted by: zesler Jun 29 2007, 02:47 AM

BTW what happened to the link to the chat room. I don't see it when I'm logged on.

No no, you can provide all the necessary links. I'll just sit by and watch you get annoyed when they miss a minor detail.

Some friend you are... :P You could post links here :P. So smartty here doesn't have to create more witty comments :P.

All the links to the chatroom have been taken down. It means it's time for you people to actually get a program that doesn't log you in as Anon####

Trust me, anyone who misses a minor detail will be forced to play Chuugoku.

Ok give me all the other info/data needed to join the chat. I'm lame enough to use Mozilla's :P. Less you can give me a better one.

Posted by: Sauce XIV Jun 29 2007, 02:56 AM

There's a thread for that. I'm not going to be your room service and fish the thread out for it.

Posted by: Leyviur Jun 29 2007, 03:00 AM

If I see any more people who obviously haven't read all the threads I painstakingly wrote to prevent this type of bullshit, I am going to ban them.

This means you, zesler. Read the fucking threads in the Rules forum.

I downloaded it a week ago, and I love it. :o
Although I have only won once yet, against Sauce...

Sakuya is <3.

Posted by: Sauce XIV Jul 16 2007, 03:05 PM

I'm pretty sure I was playing Chuugoku for that battle, so it doesn't count :/. I've pretty much decided that any loss with Chuugoku doesn't count, while any win with Chuugoku is something that deserves a mentioning.

What happened to Warcraft III. ):

Posted by: ChefMKT Jul 18 2007, 04:06 PM

Warcraft III takes too much organisation to get a game started.

Posted by: Sauce XIV Jul 18 2007, 04:08 PM

Plus you have to buy that, because pirating it is a lot more trouble than it's possibly worth.

Posted by: Chaos Seraph Jul 18 2007, 08:55 PM

Yeah well screw you.

Its more fun. ;(

But I give in, I'll get it.

Posted by: Sauce XIV Jul 21 2007, 03:50 AM

I feel bad for Walrus, because the character he plays (Youmu) is capable of so much more than what she does in the game.

I beat Sauce three times in a row.

BUT HE SAYS IT'S BECAUSE OF THE LAGS AND FRAMESKIPS AND IT DOESN'T COUNT. :(

Posted by: Enzd Jul 21 2007, 03:36 PM

I'm learning to play now, too! :O

Posted by: Suzu Fujibayashi Jul 21 2007, 03:37 PM

I wiki'd this. It actually looks interesting (Or maybe that's just because all the characters are female, thus giving me a good selection to use).

But I dunno if I'd play since I suck at fighting games... I'd probably just get the tar beaten out of me =/

Posted by: Sauce XIV Jul 21 2007, 07:33 PM

Generally, we all do, except Chef. I can more often than not beat everyone except Chef, Mega's atleast posing a bit of a challange, and Chef is able to consistantly beat me.

So in reality, you'd fit in I guess :/

Posted by: Suzu Fujibayashi Jul 22 2007, 03:27 AM

Hmmmm I see, I see. <_<
I might join. Maybe. Thinking on it I suppose, I do like a fighting game... Even if I suck at them. XD

Isn't her name...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0xkUpFfkOI&mode=related&search=?

I love the "SakuyaI DON'T KNOW JAPANESE BUT I LIKE TO PRETEND I DO!, SakuyaI DON'T KNOW JAPANESE BUT I LIKE TO PRETEND I DO!" part :3

Yeah, I had the game installed a nd had some fun with it, but my computer can't handle it very well ^^;;;

I'm generally bad at these type of 2D fighters as well, but it's just a matter of practicing and experience.

Posted by: P.P.A. Jul 22 2007, 12:18 PM

I MANAGED TO BEAT CHEF!!1

That was probably my best fight ever. And my longest.
But still, Chef is the best player here.
EDIT: OR MEGAOLIX. CURSE YOUR COMBO!

I suck at them too. But with some practice, I can now be on even grounds against Sauce.

Trust me, we all suck at first. It's only a matter of experience.

Posted by: Sauce XIV Jul 22 2007, 08:01 PM

I'd say matchups play a huge part of it, since Patch's worse matchup in the game is Remilia :/

Posted by: Raijinili Aug 7 2007, 11:52 AM

I hear PPA's the big loser. I'll bet you he can beat me.

Posted by: Enzd Aug 7 2007, 02:27 PM

I think I'm the big loser.

Posted by: P.P.A. Aug 9 2007, 09:46 AM

I managed to beat mega as well. :o
A while ago.

Posted by: ChefMKT Aug 9 2007, 01:57 PM

I demand a rematch PPA! Like on the weekend or something where course work isn't bugging me down.

Posted by: Sauce XIV Aug 10 2007, 04:34 AM

I quit. I've gone from moderately decent (in LCN skill definition) to utter shit over the course of a week due to a bunch of events that initially led me to believe that they'd be worth it in the end but ended up as a waste of time, and now I can't even play the game right. My brain is stuck between two key configurations, and that, coupled with the fact that I don't see the point playing anymore when I know that it'll always be the same result has led me to lose all interest in playing against other LCN members.

Thanks a lot for the fun matches before Chef got to be unkillable. Thanks a lot Chef for making me hate this game.

Posted by: Raijinili Aug 10 2007, 04:37 AM

I might play you, Sauce.

Posted by: Enzd Aug 10 2007, 05:05 AM

So, what, Sauce? Your offer has already been withdrawn? :(

Posted by: Suzu Fujibayashi Aug 10 2007, 02:52 PM

Hm maybe I should just get this so you all have someone you know you could beat for a long time and instead crush my self esteem... <_< Hmmmmm...

That and I'm bored all the time.

Can we get back to Warcraft III now?

Yes! Pleeeeeeeeaaaaase! :(

Posted by: Sauce XIV Aug 10 2007, 08:26 PM

By the way, if any of you took that seriously, shame on you :(

I was just really angry and was being an angsty stupid teenager. I probably will take a break though, so I can reorganize myself before trying to play anyone else again.

Posted by: Suzu Fujibayashi Aug 10 2007, 09:09 PM

*Gives Sauce a cookie*
I'll look into getting this later. >_> Just so you can have someone to beat up on until I figure out stuff... And probably still lose. I button mash too much... D:

Posted by: ChefMKT Aug 11 2007, 03:49 AM

Button mashing is fun though! It'll also make your attacks unpredictable which is a plus somewhat.

Posted by: Suzu Fujibayashi Aug 11 2007, 05:55 AM

Yes it does. But it gets rid of the feeling of accomplishment at winning... I only unlocked everything in DoA:U by button mashing... Was horrible... 100+ retries on the last few rounds sometimes *sigh*

Posted by: Enzd Aug 11 2007, 09:28 AM

Just, if you do start playing it, be sure to not let Sauce watch any of your matches.

Posted by: Chaos Seraph Aug 11 2007, 02:29 PM

I beat Chef?

I give commentaries and a guess at who will win based on the matchup and prior knowledge. Just because PPA uses Sakuya and you roll China doesn't mean you even had an ounce of a chance on winning. Only two people I know who can defeat people with China are Chef and Aruhori, but Aruhori shouldn't count since he's the best China player known.

I'm not very good at using Hong Meirin. The only reason I actually did try to learn to use her was to try and land a Youhou combo on someone in a match.
