A continued franchise isn't a port...
I never said that.

QUOTE
And really? None are coming all that much to mind for ports on the DS off the top of my head... Maybe not a DIRECT port, more like a slightly editted port to take advantage of the touch screen (i.e. Animal Crossing)
Those are still ports.

Phoenix Wright? Final Fantasies? Dragon Quest?
QUOTE
The PSP on the other hand any ports on it are going to be direct ports with minor tweaking (Graphics, new features, etc.)
Exactly the same thing as adapting the touch screen.

Continued franchises that are basically similar with some "minor tweaking" can be considered on the same level as this. Which the DS has a shitload of.

OBJECTION! Animal Crossing is a completely new game. Another spawn of the franchise, but not a remake.

Also, Super Mario 64 DS.

I wasn't saying that it wasn't. I meant his example of more like a slightly editted port to take advantage of the touch screen was a port basically.

Who is a 'his' here? <.< *cough*
Wait. Phoenix Wright is a port? I thought that was something original or something... But at least I can think of DS original/exclusive things... I can't think of any for the PSP.

Well. Any good ones for the PSP anyway. Although it does seem like Sony has had the popular idea of: "Hey... That one game for Nintendo sold really well on their GBA. Let's get the rights to it, and sell it as our own I bet THEN people will want a PSP!"

Which I guess is a way of knowing the PSP sorely needs games since I don't know many people who buy it for gaming... They buy it to watch movies and listen to music.

Yeah, Pheonix Wright, as far as any American is entirely concerned, is an original. I don't remember there being any Dragon Quests on the DS, and so far the only FF port the DS has had was FF3, which was originally released in Japan like fifteen years ago. Even then, FF3 has little any use for the Touch Screen either.

You sure like killing your own arguments, Asaph.

Like I said in the other thread, the PSP does have good original games out for it: Jeanne D'Arc, Brave Story New Traveler, Metal Gear Acid 1+2, Portable Ops, Loco Roco, Lumines, Wipeout, Ratchet & Clank, Ace Combat, and Killzone.

And Sony doesn't choose which game is going to be remade, the developer of the original company decides that on their own and I think the remake has to have a certain amount of new content in it, for it to be published in the US...not really sure about this.

And SE is planning to release DQIV and FFIV remakes on the DS...

Yeaaah... All those you listed I've never heard of... Except a few. And Killzone was a PS2 game, so it's not a 'real' original, same with Ratchet. Loco Roco is weird though...
*coughs*

BUTONTHETOPICOFYGGDRAUNIONNOW.

Wonder if they'll add any CGs... I know I'd like to see Rosary without any clothes, eheheheheheheh.
With Yggdra.

Fucking facepalm. Its a port. The Castlevania port for PsP has a Japan only game on it, that doesn't mean its not a port.

Wikipedia it.

As well as some spinoffs.

Final Fantasy IV. Also, the age of ports has nothing to do with this.

Like a lot of games for the DS.

Ignorance doesn't mean they don't exist.

Oh god. Right, so they don't count as original games because of a franchise. You can write off anything thats ever been done with the same name on the DS then. Good fucking game.

Again, ignorance to them doesn't mean they don't exist.

Wow.

I knew this was coming.

They have been porting all the best SRPGs plus Riviera to better graphical systems for the past 2 years. So this doesn't come as a surprise. I kind of hoped it would have an isometric view for the maps with actual polygons though. Like they do for SRW...

Hope they dub and release it stateside, which will likely happen.

Also, can you fucking imagine the battlecries and shit being said before and duing battle? That would be fucking awesome. And th cutscenes look okay too.

Scythe girl... doesn't stand enough to look like a playable character. Everyone in YUGBA has awsome traveling clothes on. She doesn't.

... Yggdra's dress is awesome traveling clothes?
I liked her old sprite better... I don't see how she can fight in that full-length skirt like that.

Let me rephrase... or rather change all together.

Every playable character in YUGBA wears outrageous clothing that could never work in reality. Even on the game, it would be hard, due to snags, loose clothing, and gigantic belts and masks.

ScytheChick wears clothing that looks average, even for anime.

Ah yes, that makes much more sense. Everyone knows game characters have to fight in odd and totally unbattleworthy clothing... Style > Useability
